New player, returning from almost (or more than) a decade ago with a quick question.

If I have a padded breastplate and I put on a helmet, greaves, etc. I know my AsG gets changed to the corresponding piece of armor... but does the padding, as well?

For example: if mechanics are as I remember them, a padded metal breastplate would give padded plate coverage to the upper torso and padded chain (hauberk) coverage to the rest of the body - if I put on arm and leg greaves do my arms and legs now get padded plate (half plate?) protection, or plate protection with padded hauberk level of padding, however the game would calculate that random mess? Or just no padding at all?

Metal breastplate with level X of padding with leg greaves gives you identical protection on the legs as full plate with level X of padding, save for the fact that creatures will get better avd against you in the first scenario vs. the latter.
