This is an unlocked and altered smartweapon. Smartweapon is a script/zest set created by GM Marstreforn that come in 3 types, fire, void/vacuum, and cold. Unlike it's earlier incarnations of fire and void/vacuum, the cold are not sanctified, but are cold flaring and themed. The unlocked versions of these allow the user to attune to them. You attune by using the zests, which have an RT to them, to start. After playing with the zests for about 10 minutes straight you'll fully attune to it. You know that because it'll become scintillating when attuned. Once attuned you have access to more zests(wave) and can make it scintillating, and it removes the RT. It's a great script for RP purposes. I had a random idea for a weapon with cold flares and spent far too much time trying to get a cold smartweapon longsword to make that design. Having done that, I am hoping someone out there might enjoy it. I call the weapon Black Ice, but wasn't able to engrave the actual weapon, hence the scabbard. I also found another scabbard that seemed very appropriate, so I'm throwing that in, also.
a murky crystal-edged longsword - Razor-edged crystal coats an ebon-cored metal blade, glimmering green-blue fractal patterns over the dark center with the faintest of light. Crystalline shards rise up from the crystal coating at irregular intervals resembling protruding icicles. An ebon hilt brings a clashing dissonance to the glacial hues of the blade's edge. Etched into the hilt and across the guard are a myriad of snowflakes which culminate in a single large snowflake at the base fashioned from a single faceted blue gem. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.
comes with:
a hoary leather scabbard banded in snowflake-etched silver - SSA, belt worn
In the Common language, it reads:
~Black Ice~
and, if you prefer this instead:
a slender icicle-shaped scabbard - FSA, belt worn
You analyze your crystal-edged longsword and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions, but the creator has stated that "The item type should not change."

Special merchants that are skilled with this type of weapon may also alter the weapon's parts. These are currently set to blade, edge, and hilt.

Your crystal-edged longsword whistles quietly as you run your thumb over its blade. Suddenly, the air around your fingers begins to ominously freeze and you deftly pull your left hand away before something terrible happens to it. The faint whistling ceases immediately.

With a flick of your wrist, you draw the blade of your crystal-edged longsword parallel to your body. Icy blue wisps of vapor slowly twist in the air around you, and a subtle shudder travels from the hilt of your longsword to its edge. Suddenly, your longsword emits a loud, metallic whistle, and the air around you grows more calm.

You readjust your hold on the hilt of your crystal-edged longsword and a thin layer of frost covers its blade as you tilt it steadily from side to side. The edge of your longsword glistens with hoarfrost.
