Well, answering her question might have helped. She asked a couple of times if she could help you, and if the creature was difficult to hunt. She's obviously pretty new. A quick "Not right now" to the "Can I help you?" question, and a "Yep. Tough, and way over your head." to the "Are they tuff?" question would have gone a long way toward educating this new player. I'm sure it would have done a lot more in that regard than killing her did.

Everything has been said on how over kill that reaction was, the only part that bugged me on that log was that she kept searching without asking. But the fact that she was an obvious newb, Tayre, I must admit this would have been a great chance for you to let her know 'In words' the proper hunting etiquette.

It's funny I see a thread about Sunfur. She is indeed making the rounds, all over the lands, generally doing stupid shit like walking off with people's boxes after telling them she's a picker, asking newb questions out loud, etc. I figured she was gonna run into trouble eventually. She's probably a "trial-accounter" anyway.

I've spent some time with a friend of mine trying to help Sunfur. She claims to be a newb with some friends that play GS and have been helping her out.

I help lil ones out A LOT. She knows far more than any newb I've ever met. She knew about commands (like EXPLORE) that I didn't know about. That's what she uses to get herself to places like Icemule and Illistim.

She's also very stubborn. She'll ask for help over and over again, but once its offered, she generally doesn't listen to a word you've said. Anyone that's ever met me knows I have a great deal of patience for newbies, but I now have 0 tolerance for her in particular.

Tayre, I don't know you, but 1) I have no patience for script hunters and 2) you definitely could have at least responded to her. If you said you didn't want help, she'd likely go away. Either that or she'd just stand there and talk to you incessantly.

11-13-2004, 02:47 PM
Are you asking me? I started playing GS back in 1995. I accidentally ran into a GS chatroom and was like :?: So this guy Ben pulled me aside and explained it to me. The game was down at the time, so when it came back up, he showed me around. I didn't know then that there were such documents. After about a year, I left for 8 years or so. When I came back, I figured I'd just jump back in where I started from, since I already had some knowledge of the races, cultures, professions, etc. I probably should have read them at some point, but I didn't.

Plus, today's newbies have the advantage of the sprites that show them around, give them some starting coins, etc. and they have the mentors to show them around if they so choose. There are many more resources around for them today then when I first started.

Sunfur whispers, ""What do you have to be sorry about? I dont even know you."

Apparently she doesn't remember anyway. I win.

The answer to this is Shay. 63ish rogue. Likes to attacks people with a short bow from hiding. When AS is not sufficient, garrotes people frequently. Acts like a complete DUMBFUCK 100% of the time. Almost as if someone bought decently leveled character, and has power for the first time in their life.

Too bad Shay dies to people 20+ train under "her" on a frequent basis...

Please tell me you really didn't think Shay was Warc.

If it was some attempt at being an ass, then you accomplished it.

Wow. If you were attempting to be stupid, you accomplished it.

I knew whoever owned the character bought it. I always assumed Bobmuhthol and Warclaidhm were the same retard. Either way, Shay is a dumbfuck.
