Other than just using Photoshop or some other drawing program, has anyone found a nice application for drawing maps for MU*s?

I use Visio. I believe Tsoran did as well.

Ahh good idea ... do you have a template that you use?

No I just start with a grid on a blank page and use Basic Shapes (US units). I use 2003 since that's when we had a client that kept sending us Visio files and we had to get the program at work and it doesn't upgrade with standard Office.

Awesome. It's a bit tricky to convert a map from Visio into a jpg or png that appears correctly in a browser with a fast load time. I think I usually go from Visio to pdf to tiff to jpg (or png). Depends on the map size.

Was there Visio way back then? I thought I saw his maps in the 90s.

The product was first introduced in 1992, made by the Shapeware corporation. It was acquired by Microsoft in 2000.
