Would anyone be able to tell me how long 6x-7x temper times are taking at the moment? For 4x-5x I'm getting 4-5 days and for 5x-6x I'm getting 7-8 days. I've only ever done one 6x-7x project and I remember that taking an ungodly amount of time.

I'd say you're looking at 12-15 day pours on that probably.

Have not done a 6-7 in some time, mostly because of that, but given the variables I would say Soulance is pretty close. I always figure 3 months on a 7x and it normally works out at about that. I got a 9 day temper on a 6X the other day so there is a fair amount of variability in it.

Or...just wait until they re-vamp the system and maybe it'll be better?

Mostly for the tears, but, yes, more Water Lore.

Not sure what I'd like better. Keeping it with the temper times or having like sorcs where you store enchant juice. I don't like that Water is so much of a "utility" in all of it. We'll see, RSN!

I think the whole water lore thing is sort of silly. I know I am certainly not going to train in it just so I can shave a day here and there on enchanting. I know it probably impacts other things and I should probably do more research into it, but my wizard still seems to hunt just fine after the changes and the only lore he has is air.

I appreciate that they're changing certain spells to reflect lores now, like Cone of Elements. I actually have air and fire trained on my wizard now. But making it necessary to train 50-100 ranks of water to improve temper/cast times for enchanting is retarded.

I did a pour the other night and it was about 11 days, but you know how that goes.

I'm working on a 7x project right now:

1st pour was 10-11 days

2nd pour was 12-13 days

Well, the 50 trains in Water lore is supposed to blanket along with any other lorea you train in for the flaring portion - whatever that's going to look like. So, either 100 lores in whatever flare type you want to work in, or 50 Water, 50 (earth, fire, air) and have more possibilities I guess.

Right, which is going to take a lot of TP, which means you can enchant well or you can hunt, but probably not both, until well after (or maybe close to) cap. Seems a little restrictive to me, but then again, my wizard is only 48 or so. I mean, I suppose I could buy a bunch of enhancives and throw all my spare TPs into water lore just so I can enchant that 4x flaring weapon, but, well, that's going to take a lot of time and effort. The only way I could see this maybe being worthwhile is if they let you enchant padded/crit weighted items with the right mix of lores. I doubt that will happen, though, as it cuts into PP usage.

I'd like to be able to put flares on weapons.

It seemed like the extra investment in lores will be an improvement over the current temper times, or not investing will keep you at the current temper times, but it's been a while since I read it. Anyway, it seemed like the lores would add improvement while there would be no nerf to current effectiveness.

IIRC the most you could lower temper times was by ~30% and this was done by being active and killing stuff. Water lore would help you get to that max reduction with less effort but you could still get it without the lore if you put considerably more time into it. Sounded fairly similiar to necro lore for sorcerers but I don't remember if it would really use raw kills or some other way to keep track of how active you were on your wizard. But then...we need them to release the new 925 so we can begin experimenting.
