View Full Version : Actioned Items

It's really simple, but I thought I would share. A lot of times I get an actioned item, and its tedious to find all the actions. So I made this script to go through common activation verbs. So far I have found at least one action on three things I didn't even know about.
The use is .(whateverfilenameyouwant) item
Mine is .zesttest pendant
If anyone has verbs they think should be added that would be great. Here is an example of a test I did. The ones in bold I didn't know about. Hope someone gets use out of it.
Also, hold it for one test, and if wearable, wear it for one test. Since of course that can affect actions.
Since its long.... will add sample test in next post.
*Updated File with more verbs*
*And again*

Wearing it:
>.zesttest pendant
[Script zesttest is running, Esc to cancel, Shift-Esc to pause]
>Raise my pendant
Raise what?
>Poke my pendant
Going around poking things isn't going to get you far.
>Pinch my pendant
Grasping your pendant between your thumb and forefinger, you slide it back and forth along the length of its chain, your mind begins to wander for a moment, and you shake your head in an effort to clear away the fog.
>Tap my pendant
You tap an engraved sword pendant.
>Push my pendant
That would accomplish nothing.
>Turn my pendant
But you are not holding the pendant.
>Touch my pendant
You reach out and touch an engraved sword pendant.
>Pull my pendant
I'm afraid that you can't pull that.
>Wave my pendant
But you are wearing that!
>Rub my pendant
As you slowly trace your finger across the surface of your pendant, an old memory from the days of your youth bubbles up in your mind.
>Exhale my pendant
You blow on your sword pendant.
A faint foggy mist forms over the surface of the pendant then slowly fades away.
>prod my pendant
You give your pendant a little prod with the tip of your finger.
>spin my pendant
You can't spin that.
>smooch my pendant
You smooch an engraved sword pendant.
>clench my pendant
That would not be appropriate.
>tilt my pendant
You cock your head and examine the sword pendant.
>kiss my pendant
Surely there are more interesting things to kiss than the pendant!
>shake my pendant
Shake what?
>punish my pendant
I could not find what you were referring to.
>open my pendant
>
There doesn't seem to be any way to do that.
>close my pendant
There doesn't seem to be any way to do that.
>eat my pendant
[script done]
Giving in to your urge, you pop your pendant into your mouth. Perhaps you should try spinach instead.

Holding it:
>.zesttest pendant
[Script zesttest is running, Esc to cancel, Shift-Esc to pause]
>Raise my pendant
You raise your sword pendant skyward!
>Poke my pendant
Going around poking things isn't going to get you far.
>Pinch my pendant
But you're not wearing the pendant.
>Tap my pendant
You tap an engraved sword pendant.
>Push my pendant
That would accomplish nothing.
>Turn my pendant
Looping your pendant over your forefinger, you deftly twirl your pendant around and around in the air, creating a faint whirring sound.
>Touch my pendant
You thumb your sword pendant.
>Pull my pendant
I'm afraid that you can't pull that.
>Wave my pendant
You wave your sword pendant around.
>Rub my pendant
But you're not wearing the pendant.
>Exhale my pendant
You blow on your sword pendant.
A faint foggy mist forms over the surface of the pendant then slowly fades away.
>prod my pendant
You give your pendant a little prod with the tip of your finger.
>spin my pendant
You can't spin that.
>smooch my pendant
You smooch an engraved sword pendant.
>clench my pendant
That would not be appropriate.
>tilt my pendant
You tilt your sword pendant side to side, making the light play off it.
>kiss my pendant
Surely there are more interesting things to kiss than the pendant!
>shake my pendant
Shake what?
>punish my pendant
I could not find what you were referring to.
>open my pendant
There doesn't seem to be any way to do that.
>close my pendant
There doesn't seem to be any way to do that.
>eat my pendant
[script done]
But you're not wearing the pendant.

Thanks.. I know I will be using this a lot!
Cool, I've been looking for a script like this.

I also should add, this doesn't take into account double verb actions. Such as with journals/tomes/etc... open it twice in a row you get different actions. Etc and so forth.
Working on this. I hope. Better scripters feel free to give advice :)

Updated with more verbs and double action verbs. Also updated top file, so both will work.
*Thankyou to Snowdrop, Michiko, and Jolena for Verb additions.

You had a similiar script you gave Jolena. I told Jolena what I was working on, she sent me said script. Missing verbs from mine I got from yours, which I also updated :D

When you enter the script in game, put a space after the filename and type the object you want to check.
For instance, your script is "check.cmd" and your item is "hat". You would enter ".check hat"

It's great that so many people wanted/needed it.
Well I figure, instead of everyone having to download it for a couple of new verbs..
If there is a new verb you want to add..... open the script file (in either Notepad or with SF the script edit function) and add in after an already present pause 2:
put verb my %1
pause 2
put verb my %1
pause 2
etc......
Enjoy. :bounce:
