Paladin Release info (Andraste)

when I heard about paladins being released in november...i make the joke that the gms will release them nov 30th...a week later, still no paladins, Andraste makes it all too true:



Firstly it says released in November... and there are still 22 days left.

Secondly, if you click on the link and read the information there, then click on the link that says "Learn more about Paladins", you'll notice on the Paladin page it says in bold red type:

>> PALADINS ARE NOT YET IMPLEMENTED.
>> See the RSN release list for more details.

Hardly misleading or false advertising when someone takes the steps to become fully informed before attempting to roll up a new profession.

And you expected them to be released November 1st? Seriously, who else thought they would be released before thr 30th? Not I, that's for sure.

If you play for more than a few days, you soon learn that when they give a time frame of when something will be released, it's usually towards the farthest end of it. So if they say November, you can't bitch at them until it's December and it's not there yet.

If it goes past Nov 30 then I am going to pissed. I expected a 31st release as well. Milk RSN for all they can. :yes:

What, you think Simu pays attention to a mortal calendar? I'm with Toxic on this one. I wouldn't put it past Simu to try to force more days in a month so they can pretend to meet a deadline.

So, you're saying they said it would be released in November, you made a joke that it would be released in November, and now you're making fun of Andraste for saying it will be released in November?

You've really misrepresented Andraste's post here, Dhuul, since if you really took the time to read it you'll see that she was responding to a complaint that it was false advertising.

She merely commented that there were still several days left to November, that releasing Paladins in November doesn't imply a release on November 1st or it's late, so there wasn't only misleading going on. She wasn't giving, confirming, or denying any deadlines.

Technically, a release in November is a release in November, regardless of whether Simu releases Paladins on November 1st or November 30th.

While I have my doubts whether paladins will be released in November or not, it's still not the end of the month. Andraste did nothing wrong here. Paladins will not be late unless they remain unreleased by December 1, 2004. If they're not released by then, Andraste is still in the clear, because she's only relaying what the home office has told us all. In no way would I hold a CE GM accountable for a change such as this being late. She's just the messenger.

I too, have noticed that hardly anything has been released this month so far. RSN should read RSEON (Really Spectacular End Of November) or RSNJFWRMRSD (Really Spectacular November, Just Fooling, We REALLY Meant Really Spectacular December).

Anyway, I know they're busy, but they really shouldn't announce things that turn out to be duds or partial releases. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the rest of the month brings.

On a slightly different note, I am looking forward to converting my 25 level warrior to paladin. If I like it, I'll then try my 50 level warrior, then possibly my 68 level warrior. Although, I'm not sure if I want to give up all of the guild ranks in the latter case. He's master of all but one skill, which he's halfway done with.

Hey Dhuul, since I was pointed to another BBS where you posted that I "confirmed" a late deadline on Paladins, you might want to go back and re-read my post again.

I was simply stating the obvious, which was that there was still 22 days left in November, and pointing out that the information Web page on Paladins does specifically state they are not implemented yet, and where to look for that information later.

I didn't mention deadlines once or imply anything about when the release might be.

I think with this quote right here, people assumed you had stated a deadline, or a timeline, or a release date, or whatever.

I know I'm one of the ones that assumed, since you did in fact mention a date, though jokingly, and with your statement about Andraste, I took that as you implying that wouldn't be released until later than most previously hoped.

I'm not nitpicking your post at all, just to clarify. But maybe you just didn't realize that some people took you saying, "November 30, when Andraste said this it pretty much confirms it." as having a date in your post.

I'm also rambling due to the fact of a heavy dose of percocet. :D

They usually save the best for last. Common tactic for any company that deals with entertainment.
