Here are some numbers for polearms. Please bear in mind its 4:21 am, I am tired, and these are old numbers (prior to GP), so they may be slightly off. Plus all info is most likely to change come GS4:

It appears there are nine weapon bases for Polearms:
Awl-Pike, Lance, Halberd, Pilum, Hammer of Kai, Spear, Jeddart-Axe, Trident and
Javelin.

Awl-Pike: Puncture and crush
Lance: Crush and puncture
Halberd: Puncture, crush and slash
Pilum: Slash and puncture
Hammer of Kai: Puncture
Spear: Slash and puncture
Jeddart-Axe: Crush and slash
Trident: Puncture, slash and crush
Javelin: Puncture.

So seemingly Halberds and Tridents are the functional in being able to attack any target without taking a loss or having being to be swapped out as they have access to the three of the four primary damage types (the fourth being grapple)

However looking at the AvDs and Damage Factors, the best weapons (for raw damage) for each armor type is...

None: Lance followed by halberd, trident and jeddart-axe
Leather 1: Lance, followed by jeddart-axe
Leather 2: Lance, followed by jeddart-axe
Leather 3: Lance, followed by jeddart-axe
Leather 4: Lance, followed by jeddart-axe
Scale 1: Lance, followed by hammer of kai and awl-pike
Scale 2: Lance, followed by hammer of kai and awl-pike
Scale 3: Lance, followed by hammer of kai and awl-pike
Scale 4: Lance, followed by hammer of kai and awl-pike
Chain 1: Lance, followed by awl-pike
Chain 2: Lance, followed by awl-pike
Chain 3: Lance, followed by awl-pike
Chain 4: Lance, followed by awl-pike
Plate 1: Lance/Awl-pike equal
Plate 2: Lance/Awl-pike equal
Plate 3: Lance/Awl-pike equal
Plate 4: Lance/Awl-pike equal

*1, 2, 3, 4 are all the various ASG (Armor Sub Groups). For example Leather 4, is Double leather, leather 3 would be reinforced etc. Chain 4 is hauberk etc etc.

So the lance and awl-pike makes up for their lack of damage types by doing simply insane amounts of damage.

Look for example the AvD of a lance in comparison to a Halberd (the most diverse) against plate:

Lance: 50, 44, 38, 32
Halberd: 32, 26, 20, 14

Now, lets superimpose a falchion (arguably the best OHE), and a claid (the hardest hitter) against plate:

Lance: 50, 44, 38, 32
Halberd: 32, 26, 20, 14
Falchion: 39, 33, 27, 21
Claid: 37, 31, 25, 19

Again, lance comes top.

Another factor, however, is speed:

Awl-Pike: +9
Lance: +9
Halberd: +5
Pilum: +4
Hammer of Kai: +7
Spear: +5
Jeddart-Axe: +7
Trident: +5
Javelin: +5

So the two strongest hitters are also the slowest. A halberd is a very reliable +5, while the Jeddart-axe is two seconds quicker than the lance.

Damage Factors:

How much damage is done by the weapon is calculated using the following numbers:
Trunc[(final result - 100) * DF + 0.5] = Raw HP damage

The four armor types here are the lvl 4 variants - Double Leather, Brig, Hauberk, And Full Plate respectively (note all the polearm weapon types are not here, I am afraid, only the important ones):

Halberd .550 .400 .400 .300 .200
Spear .350 .250 .275 .225 .100
Lance .725 .526 .550 .475 .350
Javelin .350 .250 .275 .225 .100
Awl-pike .600 .550 .575 .450 .350
Jeddart-axe.550 .425 .425 .325 .225
Pilum .300 .200 .225 .175 .060
Hammer of Kai .550 .425 .450 .350 .250

Here is falchion for comparison:

Falchion .450 .325 .250 .250 .175

So there you have it, Lance hits the hardest and is hands-down the most effect weapon against any armor type a polearmer can use. Its only weakness is its speed. Halberds or the Jeddart-axe (this especially against monster critters with no armor) being the mid-point.

Hope this helps you.

I don't get why people think Falchions are the best OHE's. In my opinion they suck, I will stick to my axe.

Well considering they hit better than claidhs, I will stick to my falchion.

Well seen as though I have not gotten my blow job of gratitude from Maimara for helping her with the polearmer issue, I may or may not do similar studies for the other weapons. It depends how much demand there is for them.

Thrown Weapons I think should get tested out more. So far I think the best throwing weapon I found was a handaxe. With a 3 sec. RT. And the calculation for throwing weapons AS is:

((Dex. Bonus + Str. Bonus)/2 + Skill Bonus)+ Enchant = Thrown AS.

I also know that Throwing Weapons also lowers the DS of the Target, but how much I don't know. I think Hiding also gives a small bonus. Seems to me it is best used by Rogues as well. It seems also that critting ranking is a little bit higher.

I'll roll up (or borrow) a new rogue and do some testing soon. I've never tried Thrown weapons much beyond the playful toss everynow and then.

I like my dwarven military fork, it's awl-pike based I believe and it's +18 with very heavy damage weighting. Bleeds critters quickly.

Pikes are sweet. Still, they are bested by the lance in all manners of combat.
