When do you use it? How often? Why have a spell this epic and never use it?

No one ever uses it, really. In fact I learned a couple of months ago that GMs get a warning when a player uses meteor swarm if they determine it's going to kill too many players they prevent it from even casting.

So. Yeah. Pointless.

Nuh uh! Because we were gathering a dozen wizards and we were going to meteor swarm all of the TCs at once for shits and giggles and we had like 6 people willing to do it and someone said "It won't work! The GMs will stop it!" and I was like "What?" and they explained and stuff. So we were all bummed and shit so I suggested someone try casting meteor swarm just outside of the Landing north gate to see if it would indeed cast or if the GMs would stop it and the person cast it and they said no meteors ever rained down.

It's certainly been asked for many times. I think the issue is they don't want to create another Immo build type situation where it sucks without lore but is overpowered with it. That being said, they have said they're going to look at Meteor Swarm at some point in the future.

They definitely don't stop all of them.

If a bunch of you got together, talked about it on lnet (which logged in or not they're going to hear about that from someone), I imagine they would be prepared to deal with it.

I can't remember the last time I've done it but certainly in the last year or so I've cast it in a hunting round near town for giggles and shits. I mean I wasn't right outside the gates but it was a hunting ground that people would potentially be in near the landing.

Hell, I might have to go cast it now. I"LL DO IT. I"M CRAZY.

Imagine my surprise when after clearing a war camp with a group, I tried to cast meteor swarm to hasten the decision of who should "raze". Threw my hands up and.....,nothing. Just me standing there matador style and nada.

It's so useless nobody bothers casting it while hunting. Hell, you can't even cast it during Invasions because GMs get pinged and they 'nope' it away.

It needs to be replaced with something more useful.
