So I'm tired of listening to the same old stuff, anyone have any good suggestions of new music I/others can listen to? And if possible a link to samples of the music, like on mp3.com, etc.

Pick up some Sinatra. I'm always amazed at how many moods the man can affect. Hell, I've had Mack the Knife in my head for weeks.

It'd be funnier if Sleater Kinney didn't suck.

Anticor's suggestions fit with my idea of expanding one's musical interest.
go to an Opera - Madame Butterfly is easy to enjoy
I love musicals - you can see Clint Eastwood sing horribly in Paint Your Wagon, Marlon Brando in Guys & Dolls.
Dixieland Jazz
Benny Goodman (Swing)
If you haven't heard Leo Kottke play Busted Bicycle run, don't walk, to your local store and get a CD with a live performance
Discover some early rock/jazz fusion with something like Mahvishnu Orchestra, say Birds of Fire
Slide Guitar? maybe Sonny Landreth
Archive.org has about 10,000 live recordings. You can see what the Grateful Dead sounded like (you can't get the sense of the crowd, oh well) the December 31st shows from the mid seventies are something.
Bluegrass? start with Bill Monroe and work forward
there are some sites like http://www.allmusic.com
once you find something you like you can see similar artists
Jazz Piano? Art Tatum
for something interesting try a guy named Stomu Yamashta his Go live features Steve Windwood and Al Dimeloa
I'm leaving out so many paths you can take...
I even like Hank Williams Sr.
and while I worte this I listened to Nat King Cole...
and thanks to the other posters - I'm going to learn something about modern popular music :)

Jack Johnson - pretty much all of his music is very laid back in a sort of dave matthews way but imo better.

IM me and I'll link you to all my music for downloads, if you have a fast connection anyway. You can download or laugh at whatever I have. I have a lot of "interesting" soundstracks and whatnot.
