MSI Laptops

I am trying out a MSI GT72 Dominator laptop ... one of those 15 days no questions asked refund things.

Does anyone have a strong opinion on MSI laptops or are aware of their reputation?

I have been pleasantly surprised by how cool it stays.

I have an MSI laptop that I bought about a year ago, the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3k. The specs for the price for a laptop are near unmatched, but the problem with the small form factor of the ghost causes heat problems. The dominator line has everything and more that the ghost line has, without the smaller form factor and heat trouble. IMO, one of the best laptops to buy

I haven't bought an MSI laptop but I have used a few MSI videocards in my day. They've been strong and reliable and usually test well, even with a bit of overclocking. They're pretty solid from what I know of MSI.

MSI are okay. Not the best cooling but a good deal except for the ultra high end stuff.

True, forgot about that. They will overclock but it can be a bit tricky cause they will be feisty if pushed too much. Good value IMO as Warrior said.

I've been debating on buying one. I've been too nervous to pull the trigger since I know very little about their company.

Forgot, but I think I've gotten a motherboard or two from MSI as well and don't recall any issues. I tend to go AMD though so not sure if an Intel chip would do any different.

I have an Ibuypower laptop, which is basically a customized MSI one. It's everything I wanted, save for two minor issues. It weighs about 15 lbs, so it sucks to carry around and it gets hot. It won't get dangerously hot, where I need to cool it off to play games, but it does start to make my legs uncomfortable.
