***DISCLAIMER: This is a serious topic that I would like to open. I believe a dialogue needs to be created on this subject because I think the GSIV community (mostly males) have some stark and positive similarities with the Gay community in terms of personalities and characteristics. I want to explore this side of the long-term GSIV players psyche and especially how GSIV players (the vast majority male) can so easily mesh and get along together. Perhaps, even extending what we learn here in GSIV to better real world communities.***
-My first encounter with this subject is just the sheer depth in which GS IV male players can so accurately portray female characters in-game.
+Some questions arise from this: Mainly, can one -learn- how to be gay/bi/homosexual from a video game?
+After, playing a female character or even Role-playing other races/professions is one more susceptible to "trying other things"?
+OR, are GSIV players who seem to be more creative and prone to the theatrical arts naturally attracted to this form of lifestyle?
-Reading, a noted female past time, right-side of brain(arts-oriented, words, female) more then left-side(technical, logical, male).

+ Although, this would make sense if the population of Gemstone IV is mostly female, the exact opposite is true. Which lends itself to the idea that the males
who play GSIV are more creative, words-oriented, and lean toward the feminine then the masculine.
+ Holds true even after an overwhelming selection of graphical games have debuted over the years.
-Obsession over in-game status items and objets d'art (fluff)
+ Literally, thousands of dollars are spent on text-based status symbols. 10x DB items, Thalior's staff, Gucci Handbags, Prada Shoes...
+ Even more coveted are alterations and the careful crafting and -wording- of each those items to make one's in-game avatar "look good".
+ So many comments such as "Wow thats one ugly sword" or "Would buy it for the stats but then have to get it altered" when judging value of items.
As to my opinion, I love the diversity we witness in-game in GSIV which I believe is one of the cornerstones of the game and the quirky and frankly adorable devotion to reading/text-based egoism that goes in each and every one of the players here. Therefore, I would sincerely hope we can explore this side of the game and probably more accurately a side of the player himself. Perhaps, you can all learn a little about yourselves and this wonderful medium you use to express your inner wants and desires. Come all, let's discuss! :)
