View Full Version : Fucktards on The Officials Don't like their Own Medicine...

Heh. Gnazzy the Fucktarded, aka GtG was s staunch advocate of moderation. However, apparently she gets upset when her posts are moderated.
This was my post, that got pulled, referencing her original post:
>>>I am _strongly_ in _favor_ of moderation
Many people are. Except when it applies directly to them. Weird how that works.
Her post was edited because it contained the word 'ass-backwards' and she was upset about it getting edited. Eventually Aulis pulled it (thankless job he has, by the way) Pretty humorous because she was often complaining about profanity on the boards. What a fucktard.

Well, accoridng to anon neg rep, my butt stinks, but I'm okay with that. I agree, the worst about GtG is that she is the lead GM cheerleader. There are others, but I'd say she is the worst. Krakii is not always a GM cheerleader, he is just basically clueless. It was a good day when KP was moved to play.net and renamed, so it didn't give the false impression that Krakii actually has clue.

Okay, since the original thread was closed because it was "dealt with", and any further posts are being deleted due to being "out of context"...let's try this again from scratch.
I had posted a perfectly reasonable comment as part of an ongoing discussion about the Invisibility spell. Within that comment I used a phrase containing a word for which one definition is, "a hoofed mammal of the horse family with a braying call, typically smaller than a horse and with longer ears." Subsequently, one particular person, who has clearly been trolling me in several posts, accused me of "cursing". Soon after this, I noticed that my original post had been quietly edited, without my knowledge, to remove the offending hoofed mammal reference.
The story continues. I then started a topic here, in what I felt was the appropriate folder, to voice my concerns over this issue. A discussion ensued, and several people seemed to agree that the moderation was, indeed, heavy-handed. No official response was given. Until...
The entire thread was deleted and marked "closed". No other explanation was provided, except to say the matter was "dealt with". The matter was not dealt with. It was brushed under the rug.
This was a legitimate concern for not only myself, but others who post on these forums. I violated no policy. My original post was not vulgar, nor have I ever used vulgarity on these forums (in spite of my troll's accusations). I am fully aware of policy, and in fact have myself worked as a moderator/host back in the AOL days. My wording was perfectly within the PG-13 guidelines and contained nothing you wouldn't hear on prime time television. I would be perfectly comfortable using the censored phrase either to my grandmother or in a job interview.
I believe censoring legitimate concerns, expressed in a reasonable manner, to be a flagrant abuse of the moderator's power. This was not a situation in need of moderation. This was a situation in need of a thoughtful reply. When the reply to concerns regarding heavy-handed moderation is, in fact, more heavy-handed moderation...we have a problem.
Of course, I realize the moderator has all the power, and this post may well be censored, along with the others. Simutronics has that right. But I don't think it's in their best interest to do so. This was not an unreasonable concern.

Meh, censorship on the officials doesn't bother me. It's their game, their forums, they can do what they want. I post on there because while some GMs do read the PC, there is a much better chance of influencing things by posting on the officials (not a good chance, but at least a better chance than the PC).
I started this thread because I thought it was funny that GtG got moderated on the officials, and she was all up in arms about it. I can just imagine the cognitive dissonance going on in her brain (oh! I got moderated, those rules aren't for me! But the GMs did it, so it must be good! Actually the only part of that thread that bothered me was that a forum moderator was editing player's posts and admitted as much. That's why the whole thread was deleted, not because someone said OMG or bite me. Aulis (spelling, I'm on my phone in northern Minnesota) stated it was a no no after a couple of us said we were shocked that it was being done, and then deleted the entire thread. Apparently they had just gone into some posts and deleted the profanity instead of the entire post. Seemed like a giant can of worms to me.

It was deleted because she said ass like 5 times.
Her other post was edited (ass was removed), which is why she started complaining.
And she also recently had posts pulled for saying OMFG, which is masked vulgarity.

Eh, I think that's why her posts were pulled, but I don't think they wanted the whole post editing thing out there either. He stated it wasn't supposed to be done and then canned the whole thread. I guess..
You claimed it was a "grey area" and the post is able to be interpreted by the moderator. That reeks of favoritism to me.
If the claims of trolling are phrased in such a manner to harass another poster, or a group of posters, then yes it is definitely against policy. Or as part of any other form of TAC violation or policy violation in general.
Making claims of trolling, is different than referring to another poster as a troll. Wouldn't you agree? I can provide an example if you'd like.
Do I think it can be specifically phrased in such a manner while still staying civil and respectful of others on the forums? I do.
Would you explain how it's civil and respectful of others to refer to them as trolls, or that they're trolling? I'm having difficulty understanding that.
I would also like to remind you what you stated to me in the first post I've ever had pulled:
The problem area of this post is:
"Try logging in and being a part of the community if you're going to troll forum topics and argue against changes that would improve the in-game atmosphere."
I just posted today stating for everyone to calm things down. This means stopping the insults flying from one poster to another. Such as calling other posters a "forum troll".
If you really feel that another customer is trolling the forums then you should take up the policy violation with me by e-mailing me and not blast them with open accusations on the forums. Posting such is only going to make the situation much worse and will lead to more caustic posts from all parties involved.
Your interpretation seems a little inconsistent. It was not ok for me to refer to someone as a "forum troll" but apparently it's ok for a cheerleader to refer to someone as a troll.
Would you clarify how you decided that one was ok, and the other was not?

No. That's a complete lie. I never once complained about profanity on the boards. Not "often", not even once. It never happened. You are absolutely lying through your teeth. Not that it surprises me, since you probably never expected to get called out on it. But if you're going to outright lie about something to try to flame someone, you should probably make sure there's no chance the truth will ever surface. Otherwise, you risk being exposed as a pathetic little worm desperately trying to feel big and bad by tearing down someone you don't know, never met, and never expect to have to answer to.

Am I missing the special trick which allows me to purchase items? I have to have enough silver so I am overburdened to buy a hand axe but when I try to buy it I cannot accept the weight of the hand axe. I am carrying almost nothing but coin with a strength spell. Any one have any ideas before the shop closes?
The system doesn't account for what your encumbrance will be after you purchase an item, just your current encumbrance. If you deposit the coins and get a note, you shouldn't have this issue when buying things, assuming you aren't otherwise encumbered and haven't hit the item limit.
~~GM Kynlee~~
Private Property Guru
GS4-Kynlee@play.net
And I still think that's a silly way to do it.
This could all be resolved with a minor tweak to the purchase code, by the addition and use of one variable.
(Hint: name the variable "escrow"...)
You Have Coins, so You Can Pay. (They go to escrow.) Merchant sees if that matches the price. He hands you weapon. You Do Not Have Coins (they're in escrow), so you can handle weight. You get gizmo. Merchant gets coins. Done.
>This could all be resolved with a minor tweak to the purchase code, by the addition and use of one variable.
This would not a minor tweak to the purchase code. That's unfortunately just not the way any of that works.
~Vanah
Reply Reply
But it could be done that way. :)
Even if it had to be done manually, like Larton: "put my silvers in Escrow cage on counter" / "buy handaxe".
Does this character have coins in Escrow? Yes. Purchase condition met.
Can character handle encumbrance of handaxe at this time, sans coins? Yes. Encumbrance condition met. Character receives handaxe.
Yes, I understand that the system is currently set up a certain way, to do direct swaps. That system was also written when we had no encumbrance, and could carry an unlimited amount of silver... but only twenty (20) items.
Maybe it's time it got a little makeover?
That's still not the way any of those systems work. Unfortunately, I'm not rewriting multiple core systems when the alternative (to use a note) is simple and accessible.
~Vanah
Or, a minor tweak to your purchasing style (i.e. using a note) would do the trick.
-Taakhooshi, and Me
Hell, do it with the 'urchin' verb that already exists. After all, we're hoity-toity High Lords & Ladies, right? Snap our fingers, courtiers and lesser underlings leap to obey, right?
Give the coins to the urchin. (Or footman. Or butler. Or whatever. It's a damn store, there's a clerk working there.) The clerk unobtrusively counts them to make sure you aren't cheating his/her master, the store owner, then fetches the item and obsequiously proffers it to the character.
The point is to have a non-PC location where the coins exist (programmatically) at the instant the encumbrance is checked.
Some place in the program for the shops there is a moment where <thing> goes from <stock> to <PC>, and the weight gets checked, and denied if <too many coins exist>.
That, one, single spot, is where something needs to be added.
>That, one, single spot, is where something needs to be added.
This is not the way any of these systems you're suggesting work. This suggestion is not workable. It's like you're suggesting that we replace gasoline to power someone's existing car with AAA batteries. Yes, AAA batteries power things. Yes, cars have batteries. Yes, there are electric cars that run on batteries. But the suggestion to retrofit a gasoline car to run on AAA batteries is absurd.

Wouldn't the easiest solution be to remove the cost for withdrawing a note? Then there is no reason not to use a note.

Awesome seeing a GM putting Krakii in his place.
I swear that guy.
Krakii: "It's as simple as adding one line of code to make this work!"
GM: "No, no it isn't."
Krakii: "Let me just rephrase my original point slightly while still maintaining it's this easy!"
GM: "No, it really isn't. Please stop."

Someone threw a good barb at Krakii the other day on the officials, while not naming names. They said something along the lines of 'people who have never been above 60th level should probably not be harping on about ideas on how things are at cap'
I mean, it's not an 'OMG! Did he just say that?!?!?!' but it gave me a chuckle.

We could probably dedicate an entire thread to Krakii's ramblings.
I remember one time someone asked if the enchant bonus from shields was affected at all from shield training and Krakii replies going into this in depth post about how shields used to give a flat 20 DS bonus and this bonus was applied whether a shield was in the right or left hand so back in his day he used to have a character using two shields and it boosted his DS and he did this and that and he was an awesome killing machine who somehow killed shit with his shield or something and his rambling went on for like 6 or 7 paragraphs.
So the original person replies with something like "Okay, so can you answer my question?"
Oh man. The laughter that was had that night.

When I first started playing, I used to believe that carrying a shield on your back prevented back criticals, so I carried two. One to wear, another to use. I also used to use an alexandrite greatsword. I guess what I'm trying to say is, we all had stupid ideas, but for some reason the knowledge contained on his site somehow never osmosed over to him.

That sums up the beef I have with that dude. He's not playing at all half the time, nursing a few characters along between 40-60 the rest of the time, but has a whole gang of opinions about every profession at EVERY level of the game, which is very funny. And to read his inane posts you first have to sift through which parts of it are just "back in my day, we laid down cheese to attract rats while praying to the GEnie of RoleMaster and we fucking liked it" and which are attempts at advice/mechanics discussion which he should be forced to put a hard limit on around Darkstone Castle because you know that motherfucker has never left the Landing.

Purple brocade clothing from head to toe, my giantman warrior was simply smashing and seasonal wielding his purple mithril broadsword and purple mithril shield. A look that transcends time, some have said.

Hey cool you have logs from AOHell-era GS3!
I later got repeatedly poached in gnomes by a guy and murdered him with that very broadsword, got a 30 day lockout, and my dad wrote a sternly worded letter to Simutronics on my behalf.
Stump told my pops to GFY and my lockout was not lifted.

Well, isn't this nice. Can't say I was surprised to stumble across this little hate-fest. But I'm afraid you got a few things wrong.
Funny how things work out, isn't it?
Anyway, by all means continue the hate fest. It's actually pretty amusing. Just don't expect me to stick around to play. I actually have a life.
Ciao,

I don't know the context any of this because I'm too lazy to read, but either way, but posts like that are heavily frowned upon here.
Let me help by showing you what your post should have been presented like in order to meet PC etiquette standards:
Well, this is fucking gay. But I'm not surprised because you're all a bunch of dicks. And you're stupid as fuck too.
Pretty humorous because she was often complaining about profanity on the boards.
Fuck that. That's fucking bullshit. I never said shit about people saying shit like fuck shit piss asshole or cunt on the officials. Not one time, you fucking douchewafer. Like never as fuck. You're full of all kinds of shit. Makes sense since you didn't think you'd get called out for being a dick drinker. But if you're gonna be so full of shit about someone to try and make them look like a sack of assholes, you should make sure your bullshit won't ever get exposed. Otherwise, you risk being exposed as a puddle of penguin diarrhea who probably sucks alligator cocks irl that needs to trash on someone they don't know to justify not killing themselves at night.
How do you like that shit?
Anyway, keep being dicks to each other. It's funny as fuck. But I'm just gonna sit back and watch. Fuck off I got work to do.
Later cunts,

[Anthurium Way - 12269]
The path comes to a crossroads here with a narrower path proceeding west and a wider one leading south towards a large sandstone building. Two torches have been placed here but one has gone out making it difficult to see. An empty cart with a broken wheel sits off to one side of the western path. Flowerpots filled with leafed plants and ivy fill the cart, their journey to a new home interrupted by the wheel's untimely demise. You also see a bronze-gated sandstone tower, a silk-covered white cabana with an ornate seashelled roof, a bloom-covered cozy bungalow with a woven seaweed roof, a shrub-lined sandstone cottage with a gold-veined marble roof and a simple shop.
Obvious paths: east, south, west
>go simp shop
[Arroke's General Store - 16550]
Beneath an uneven wooden ceiling, a tattered merchant permit hangs on one of the plain wooden walls. A fish hook rack and a warped treasure chest sit in opposite corners while a worn rug rests on an unfinished wooden floor. You also see a large sign.
Obvious exits: north, east, out
>out
[Heleconia Way - 3870]
The sounds of insect life can be heard, but in the dim light here you can't see them. A weather-beaten wood boat with a large hole in its hull sits to one side of the path, half buried in the sand. A lantern with five or six glow worms in it has been set on the boat's hull to light the area. You also see a short cobblestone edifice with a gold-veined marble roof, a dark speckled marble storefront with a chipped slate roof, a shrub-lined sandstone cottage, a warped wooden hut and an ornate glass-front shop with a layered tile roof.
Obvious paths: east, west
------
This shop enters from one room, and exits to a different room than the original room you enter from. I tried to bug this, but I'm not sure if I did it correctly. I don't know if this is the place to post the issue, but if someone is able to fix it, that would be very nice.
Since it's obviously a large building ['north' and 'east' are available motion from there] it is possible that it fronts on more than a single street. There is no mention of HOW you 'go shop', so it may be that you're going in through an alternate entryway (which happens not to be listed).
.
Then again, since there is no "simple shop" in your exit room, maybe it's just a bug. :)i said something mean here but maybe I should just be less mean
