Hey gang. I just came back from a long break and am considering rolling up a new warrior since you can't have too many of these guys. My concept for this warrior is a berserking dwarven dervisher. But I would like I have some quirks about the mechanical viability of this concept. Namely, if I go UAC open mstriker will that be inferior to a more generic double axe mstriker? What about dwarves, I heard that there are a lot of critters immune to dwarven head shots which will basically mean lucky fatal hits with mstrike will not happen, which significantly reduces the killing power of this concept. Anything else I'm missing? Cheers.

UAC is inferior unless you Ambush. Go full Viking.

UAC mstrike would be inferior because right now berserk does not work with UAC.

And go Two-Handed Weapons. TWC is just glitzy, doesn't really do anything more then THW and requires you have two excellent weapons and a ton of TPs. Plus bonding is problematic, unless of course you got a splitter (again mucho $$$).

Don't pay attention to anything geralt says.

Well THW is 9/3 to train. For TWC you want weapon skill 6/3, and TWC which is 6/6, giving you a total of 12/9.

As long as you aren't aiming your attacks you can randomly hit anywhere on your target but being shorter your chances for hitting the legs of things is higher.

As others have pointed out UAC currently doesn't work with berserk. I've been playing with UAC mstrike a bit lately and it is amusing to me. You can make most things work it is just a matter of how hard you want to make things on yourself. If you want to use mstrike, dervish, and UAC all on the same character I'd suggest you go with twc/brawl. While not as flashy as most other weapons you can still kill things quite effectively with fist-scythes. I carry around a plain 7x perfect fist-scythe that I forged and from time to time I've pulled it out while hunting for various reasons and it has always amused me how well it actually works. I can crit kill a good number of things with it and those that can't be are easily killed with attrition or likely UAC or a combination of both. And yes, the above path wouldn't be as effective as using twin axes. If you can get to 13 or so within your first 30 days you can likely get a small taste of how each weapon combination works. I say 13 because that is when you can get your first focused mstrike if you 2x MoC(30 ranks).

Thank you for the fast and informative responses. I've also been told that Giantman would be a better choice on a purely mechanical standing. The minor negatives to stats could be overcome through enhancives but the 60 hit point gain and especially the enormous encumbrance advantage of giants is impossible to get back as a dwarf. However, Dwarves do receive +15 to TD, how huge a deal is this? Thanks.

I don't have a huge experience with this build, as I just started a new Dwarf Warrior a few months ago, though I thought I'd throw in something else for you to think about:
- Dwarves get a +10 to Discipline, which helps a lot with Berserk.

Currently have my Dwarf Warrior using THW (maul/sledgehammer) + Berserk and 1x in MOC. It's really fun and the oomph of the THW weapon helps in the higher chance of hitting legs. (I honestly don't notice and have gotten crit kills on the head quite a bit.) Also, smashing them in the leg has the bonus of usually legging them/knocking them down in one hit, anyhow, which disables.

Plus I believe Dwarves get some extra bonuses for Forging, too.

... and they're more fun to RP, in my opinion.

... my 2 cents.
