So I have been pondering this build for a while now. It will take some special things, namely slaves, but I wonder how effective it would be near/at cap.

So the idea I have had is that most of my capped characters went a standard route, and it was only until post cap that I started working on the really strong abilities that then seem to come in relatively slow.

So for the following discussion I want to focus on having zero post cap XP. This is strictly a get to 100, fixskill, then go back type of option. For argument purposes, lets assume some of the following:

You have unlimited access to scrolls and free unlimited recharging of said scrolls. You also have unlimited access to 1612 and 1711.

Dwarf empath with stats placed for maximum TPs, not perfect stats. I think that is:

Strength (STR): 89
Constitution (CON): 25
Dexterity (DEX): 92
Agility (AGI): 89
Discipline (DIS): 33
Aura (AUR): 70
Logic (LOG): 25
Intuition (INT): 70
Wisdom (WIS): 80
Influence (INF): 87

So the training would be:

8 ranks of armor use
1x brawling
1x PF
1x Dodge
10 ranks climbing
10 ranks swimming
90 ranks Arcane Symbols
88 ranks MIU
1x HP
24 ranks SMC
24 ranks MMC
101 empath spells
50 major
51 minor
100 ranks manipulation lore

So the idea would be to hunt OTF exclusively once setting this up and holding a shield in the off hand even without the shield use. I believe you could wear 1711,1612, and all the normal wizard spells without bursting and possibly some more from scrolls like 618. So the one thing with this build I am not sure of is, would be it better to skip the brawling and just train straight out shield use? It frees up more points to sink into other skills.

But the general idea is that with your post cap experience you start picking up 3x spells or work on critter maneuver defense through PT/perception. Using 1711 and 1612 to boost your CS by 25. Then go back and pick up all the cheap skills.

Being able to use 1711/1612 unlimited means that it would be like having 140 empath spells for CS purposes.

Too lazy to run the numbers but if you dropped MMC (only reason to have that is to share with a bard nowadays since they took it out of Boneshatter, unless I'm missing some other major MMC benefit) and switched from 1x Brawl to 1x Shield, would you be able to 2x PF, or get close to it? That's probably the main thing I'd change. I'm a PF addict, I'm closing in on 2.5x on my guy and wish it was 3x. It's an interesting idea, though, and capping with Dodge at 1x saves you from one nightmare post-cap goal slog. Going to 3x spells will seem like a breeze in comparison, and when you get there you'll have full beast CS with that extra +25 you're throwing around.

Exactly. I feel like the biggest thing with post cap is that you are training the dodge to improve survival. The MMC is to share with a bard in my build. So basically taking a slight page out of Onurb's guide having a bard nearby with a mana slave or two singing mana song would be a possibility if 1106/1115 isn't cleaning up in OTF. But I feel like it would. So yes I would probably drop MMC and throw it in PT or into MIU/AS for more burst protection.

Edit: Or my plan is to make a few F2P sorcerers. They are relatively easy to level to 20/25 and then their training would be all harness power and mana share.

F2P can't send mana.

F2P can't send mana.

Isn't there a pass for that though?

Edit: Nope. I thought the pass for subscribers that let you receive spells from F2P would do it. Guess not. Oh well. MMC could get dumped I am pretty sure.

Edit2: Well maybe there is: According to the wiki Cannot SEND mana. A casting pass purchased by one of the parties will remove this restriction.

Edit3: So if the receiving pass does work, I would put that on the paid for bard. That means many to 1 for sending mana I think. I have only ever been able to play through the XXX for the most part every week. So lets just call that 30 hours a month. $8 a month for mana slaves max.
