Takes awhile to read, about twenty minutes for the emails plus the LiveJournal link at the end. I love being creeped out.

Was that Mark Condry dude in any articles or anything? Didn't ring any bells.

I was a little spooked but then I saw the site is copyrighted heh. Takes a bit of the feel from the whole thing.

If it were one of my friends gone, I'd go to that house with a backpack of dynamite and a video feed of the second house to see if the fscking thing blows up at the same time.

I noticed the copywrite thing on it too which makes me think its just a story someone is writing.

I have Sprint pcs and its a bitch doing the text messaging. Well on my phone it is.

Anyway, yeah the story is creepy.

SpunGirl

Yes, it's just a story. But I loved it.

Edited to say it creeped me out enough that I searched in both the Boise paper and the Arizona Republic for articles that matched what was discussed, and obviously didn't find any.

Creepy! Thanks, I'm all freaked out now. I have a feeling it's not real, but still, it's well done. The cell phone messages back to back made me cringe. Now I'll have to go watch something really chipper before going to bed. I'm alone in this apartment damnit!

Tierus' player linked me that story, and then like 10 minutes after I had finished reading it my cell phone rang. It's this voice, going, "Red rover red rover let Kristin come over." I knew immediately that it must be him, but I still shrieked and almost threw the phone.

I'm easily creeped out by things that are unexplained, unseen, ghosts and so forth. So yes, this is going to keep me up all freakin' night.

Yes, I was one of the few who really, really got spooked by The Blair Witch Project. Not liking it!

Eh well I'm bored enough to look into it, since the first location he spoke of is, um, roughly 7 miles from my house (Gessner + Braeswood) And I go to sugarland once a week to hang out with friends. I'm bored and I'de love to get some pictures of this house and check it out.

Feh the only two names listen are so blantantly common that it would probably take hours to play around on the phone with, so I'm assuming its bullshit, however if someone else finds me an address I'll go check it out

Yeah. Im pissed because the page hosting that story stopped working for me RIGHT AS IT GOT TO THE GOOD PART.

:banghead:

That house would be about an hour away from where I live though, so I am tempted to go check it out too.

 creepy Houston shit. thx for posting

Edited to add: I finished reading it. So *weird*. I woke up my roomate and told him to read it because he's into all that paranormal crap. He said its a Blair Witch hoax/thing. I said thank you and can now go to bed. :D

Hey, CT! You're listed as a friend of Danielle Smith, the link to whose live journal is in the 10-22-2004 entry. Curiouser and curiouser! :D

This is likely the next ARG. Alternate Reality Gaming. (http://www.argn.com/)

Basically, it's real time roleplaying, using the real world as the game. There have been various games like this -- one currently going on "I Love Bees" is a marketing game by Microsoft for the upcoming Halo 2 release.

As the game progresses, the storytellers will involve people in different ways -- like asking them to go to a payphone in some city to receive a message... or to go to a website to decipher clues, etc.

They're usually really fun.

One company tried to market it as a monthly-pay type thing... if anyone remembers Majestic. You would play the game by trying to solve mysteries, and the "game" would send you IMs, e-mails, and phone calls. It gets errie at times, as you know it's a game... but if you let your imagination go it gets really creepy.

Unfortunately, Majestic failed and I believe the game ended.

You know, if I were in a really creepy house and I thought something was coming to get me, I would NOT be text messaging people about it. And everyone knows that if you're scared you NEVER go upstairs. No matter what you're scared about. Stairs = bad.

Okay, now that a bunch of people have read it, I'm curious about what the conclusions are. I mean, is the house in Phoenix like the hub, or nucleus, for the rest of the look-alike houses? What connection did the computers on the desk have to what was going on? Was the little girl emptied out the way the dude was?

Also, I'm not really sure I understand why he shot the couple, unless he was just an evil extension of the house-thing. I adored the story so much I wrote the guy an email telling him how much I loved it. I want to read more.

From what I gathered, the computers were taking a constant temp check of the attic. The story made it sound like the house pushes a message through the computer via an error, and then shorted out.

Also, did anyone else notice that the last text message he sent, was the same thing the guy was muttering in the diner before he opened fire? ;)

Excellent story, it flows quite well. Not what I would classify as scary though. I am looking forward to the next couple days posts to see how it finishes up.

Last night I was all like 'OMG, THE DOOR IS OPEN' because I hit refresh on that page and the Oct, 28 update was suddenly there. Creeeeepy.

Im really confused by some of it too. I think the clues are to help that though. Im definately checking the updates until its over.

That was awesome!

It totally creeped me out. Haven't had anything do that to me in a very long time.

I just have one question: The girls LJ stops on the 21st...does that mean something happened to her? :wtf:

SpunGirl
10-28-2004, 06:56 PM
Well, she said she was going to babysit one more time, then she was all "reciting" weird stuff in the LJ, the same as the little girl, and the guy who was reciting TV factoids. Yeah, I think the metal door mentioned in the text message is the "door is open" they were both referring to, and maybe that leads into the uber demon-ness bad part of the house? I donno.

Found something strange. If you look at the last text message, and look at the time it was sent, it says 5:77pm...

I dunno. The update page said the last Text Message was at 5:11pm, and the message before that was at 5:11. Could be just a type on purpose to freak people out....make it seem supernatural...

SpunGirl
10-28-2004, 09:32 PM
That would be weird, like the sprint messaging system was thwarted with the superweirdo-ness of the location of the phone. Or something.

Just don't take a bath. I'd had to see a piece of string slithering out of the faucet muahahahahaha

People in the Horror industry really don't want people like me to take showers OR baths anymore. Psycho, The Grudge, Cabin Fever - All reasons on why I think washcloths and a nice basin full of water is the way to go anymore. :scared:

CrystalTears
10-29-2004, 11:17 PM
And just so you know, there are presently 111 friends for that LJ blogger, so I'm not the only psycho anxious to hear more if there is any.

Oh and there's an update. He also said that he would be working all weekend and probably not updating. Slick.

Bunch of savages in this town. :D
