Hello,

New player here, currently 20 trains in. I have only been playing a couple weeks but I am loving the game and have everyone I have met so far has been great. Big thanks to Hoodtralfeck who basically spent a whole day showing me what was what on my first day. I would still be completely lost without that help.

I am coming up on the end of my grace period on 9/20/2015 so I wanted to get some feedback from the warrior community on what corrections I should make before my time is up.

Basic Info:

Name: Yig Race: Giantman Profession: Warrior
Level: 20 Gender: Male Age: (Select your age)

Experience:
Experience: 478840 Next level at: 517000 exp.
Exp. until next lvl: 38160
Fame: 950551 Deeds: 3 Deaths this level: 0

Current Skills:
You will see some over training in Armor Use because I am trying to get to 80 ranks as soon as possible to mitigate my hauberk. Outside of that I am trying to train CM twice during each level, along with PT and Dodge. I saved points and put 30 into MOC for the focus strike ability. I will probably hold off on further training until I can afford an additional focus strike. Let me know if you guys see anything off base on my training choices.

I have an additional question regarding skills: People frequently use the term 1x/2x/3x per level. However, because there is a "Level 0" and training points accumulate as experience is gained, I am unsure if this means 1x/2x/3x during this level or 1x/2x/3x before this level. I would appreciate some clarity on this.

When someone says, for example 2x, they usually mean 2 times your level + 2.

Personal opinion but I would lower STR and CON slightly. Those stats already grow fast for a warrior and even faster for a giantman. Sure you'll get a few more TPs having them as high as they are now but you'll suffer lower numbers in other stats.

Here's a handy dandy stat growth calculator:

One thing I'll add -- as a giantman non-warrior (bard) the stat placement I regret most is not putting my logic higher. That stat grows slow as molasses, and the slower experience absorption (complete with giantman stat penalty) sucks.

Thanks for the info.

The calculator is from 2003. Is that data still valid?

Also, is there a way to see your original stat allocation?

I think the monk data is inaccurate but pretty sure the rest is accurate.

Socks go on your feet, silly.

99% of people in GS don't wear socks.

Your skills look fine ish. I would probably take more ranks in ambush over MOC to be honest. MOC 1x is sufficient I think and ambush helps you finish critters off quickly.

Other skills seem fine but not sure how you have 42 ranks of Two handed weapon and 44 ranks of CM. Maybe I am missing something (currently drunk) but I would expect these to both be 42 at level 20... anyway obviously these should be maxed.

Regarding the stats, if you can still change your stats you should probably change them to so they will max at cap. It will make hunting a bit harder for the next ~30 levels or so but there are benefits in the long run (not having to use a fixstat one of them) if you are aiming for cap.... If you don't think you are aiming for cap then maybe just give a bit more room for STR and CON to grow in the meantime.

You really need to play with Tsoran's trainer about your stats. If you're thinking long term without a fixstat, you're gonna need to lower your physical (faster growing) stats and prop up your mental (slower growing) stats.

If you set your starting stats to:

Str-30
Con-58
Dex-68
AGL-68
Dis-73
Aur-82
Log-88
Int-70
Wis-82
Inf-41

You will have all 100s at level 100 except for an 81 Influence. Your AS at 20 will be no bonus from Str (not counting Giantman racial) but also no negative as it will have already hit a 50. You knocked out some levels before having to set your stats for good so if you can stomach another 20-30 levels of too little dex/agi/str it will pay off in the end.

What he shows there is a common warrior build. Alot put the minimum numbers in required to get a 100 in all stats, except influence as its not terribly important for warriors (right now any way). Also giants get a bonus in influence so it evens out I guess. Some do the same with intuition (if they really like warcries or GoS for example). So they either "tank" influence or intuition. I think I'm gonna strive for balance, you can get a 90 in influence and 91 in intuition playing with the numbers, I think that's the route I'll go when the time comes.

Sorry used to doing casters lately. If you wanted the most balanced in the sense of highest Int and Inf it would be same as above with a 53 starting Int and 58 starting Inf resulting in 91 Int and 90 Inf at 100.
