it takes most gems, though there are some exceptions. Urlgaes fang and petrified tiger tooth, for example. Things that, under the flag sort verb, don't fall under gems, most likely.

it will not, I tested them. Per the sort flag, it's not listed as a gem, but as misc. I bet a doomstone would work though, that comes up as a gem
