Hello. Just came back after a few year hiatus and would like some help adjusting my skills. It appears I trained in both 1he, shields, and 2he. I'm wondering if switching to one, or the other, would be more beneficial.

If I choose 2h, I can easily acquire more training points that can be used elsewhere, by depleting 1he and shield use.

Any help here? Just curious on WHAT to change and TO what?

I've been in the same boat. I found that i NEVER ended up using a shield/OHE, and fixskilled to just 2handers. It allowed me to double in dodge and triple in armor, which is helping me stay alive.

Now, that's not to say i won't go back to training 2h/OHE later. I just know that by the time i want to, I'll have an annual fixskills, so I'm waiting it out. I'd rather have the TPs to do what i want to stay alive now, and have fun later.

Personally I would drop down to one weapon skill, either 2 handers or sword and board. I managed fine (in fact I would say better than fine, the majority of hunts I wouldn't get any injuries etc) with sword and board until around level 55 and after level 63+ (when I stopped hunting troll kings) I found it increasingly difficult, it seemed a OHE just didn't hit hard enough to efficiently hunt a lot of mobs (obviously there are exceptions to this if you have enough coin.....). I don't regret fixskilling to pure 2 hander but maybe I will revert back to sword and board when/if I cap.

I -think- most warriors pick up a second weapon style later in life. It's hard to do it from the get-go. Assuming you go 2hers...

- You should be fully doubled in cman. No ifs ands or buts.
- You should consider dropping ambush altogether really. With twohanders and that extra 3 seconds, it's hardly worth to train Ambush just for the open aiming. Just my experience.
- Try to 1x MOC. You'll thank yourself after 60 ranks and mastering berserk.
- You should be at least 2x PT. One of those no ifs ands or buts things.
- You should try to 1x dodge. Not having a shield makes dodge more important.
- As far as survival, climbing, and swimming go, if you were .5x on those you'd probably be fine.
- Where is perception? Try to 1x it to at least 40 ranks.

Great list. I've found it pretty beneficial to do .5x in ambush though. I'm planning on getting 40 ranks, and at 35 I'm tearing stuff up by aiming for heads with a two hander.

Well, like I say, just my experience. I can aim for the head in 8 seconds with a claid, or I can mstrike and hit 3 times in 12 seconds. So virtually it takes twice as long for me to aim. I'm usually berserking anyway. To each his own!
