For coherence, She is speaking of a conflict we had YEARS ago between Skyfawn, and a young sorcerer I had. The said sorcerer has been deleted for oh...about 6 years now.

Also note, I did not single her out as she claims. Adredrin had a bad experience with a Demon this morning (actually, a summoning failed), and thus the RP started with him still under the foul effects (RP'ed of course) of the backlash. Skyfawn was NOT the only person he accused of being a demon..she was actually like 3rd or 4th.

I've got no real problem with Skyfawn, she heals my characters and she doesn't get involved otherwise. Some people just aren't roleplayers and you deal with it.


Although, one of my favorite Skyfawn moments was when I said something like "Empaths sure do wear a lot of useless stuff."

and she responsed "If you look at me it's mostly just long descriptions."

I wanted to say something like "please whisper" but I decided just not to bother.

Back to the question of RP, not that I'm an RP Nazi but I really dislike when people you are familiar with say things like BRB or LOL out loud.

Every time I've ever seen Skyfawn, she's in TC, so I'm guessing you had plenty of other people you could have chosen to interact with.

Lets see... She knows my other chars because she has been on these boards before when I ranted about her in the past (do a search on Skyfawn, it was a very amusing thread).

Why do I RP with her? Because Adredrin is not me..and at that point in time, Adredrin was under a high volume of mental stress. As a matter of fact, he even accused two friends of being a demon. He saw a demon, not a skyfawn.

There was about 4 other people in TC, yes. But hey, I was RP'in, its not my fault she is too stupid to keep up, or even play along. Hell, she could have just walked away, but no, she stood there and made herself look an ass.

Actually, this is kind of a sad statement. If I simply avoided RPing Naessi around people I haven't had pleasant interactions with in the past, I would be compromising my IC-ness as well as eventually robbing myself of some cool interactions. People can change. Perigourd proved that when he used to suck and whisper OOC stuff. A few months later he was around, Naessi RPed her normal self (with me sitting here thinking, "great, he's going to say something stupid again,") and he was actually uber cool.

I was really glad I didn't just flat-out ignore him. No one should have to stop roleplaying around certain people just because they're nitwits who can't handle it.

True, but from an player's perspective, you had to suspect the outcome, I guess I just don't understand why bitch about it and still keep interacting with her? Not everyone is in GS for roleplaying, and the game allows for both..so I'd just avoid the people that aren't interested, even if it isn't IC, but because it makes both parties happier.
If you don't think you'll get an IC response from someone by involving them, just find someone else. At least you'll get an IC response from an OOC decision. Damned it you do, damned if you don't.

Also, I can understand why Adredrin was trying to continue to RP with Skyfawn, as Spungirl said, you cannot simply stop interacting with someone just because they suck once, maybe they were having an off day. But there simply is no hope for some people sometimes.

Adredrin, maybe you should give up and just try to ignore her from now on, I mean, if she sucks so much... :shrug:

He should ignore her. However, ignoring her does not always work, as that does not always enable one to escape her out-loud OOC remarks that she likes to spout in public areas. Sometimes the best way to teach someone to roleplay is to lead by example. I guess she's beyond help.

GemStone is a roleplaying game. The people who are roleplaying should not have to stop. The people who react like fuckwads to the roleplaying are the ones who should change their behavior.

Exactly my point. She still does a service, which is better than what 90% of the people out there do. There are still a bunch of people out there who don't roleplay AND don't do anything for me.
