Question About Spikes and/or Removing Spikes

Must the word "spiked" be part of the description of a spiked item? Or can it be altered to remove the word "spiked" while still retaining the mechanical impact?

Alternately, how often does a service to remove spikes come around and how much might I expect to pay to get it done?

I think some merchants do spike removal on occasion. I had erroneously said Felthrop would do it, but apparently not. Also, spikes means spikes. No spikes means no spikes.

Ledirth I think would show up every month/quarter/whenever to do a removal service or something to that effect, not sure if that's still going on or not.

The description does need to include "spiked". You can tell if it mechanically is using the INSPECT verb.

Haven't seen it in awhile anymore. Probably because it wasn't frequented much. Aequis, post on the officials in the premium folder and maybe they'll add the service to the calendar.

Thanks guys. Its an issue for an item that I'm thinking of buying so it's not urgent. Maybe they'll have the service at EG. I just don't want to be in a position where a spiked armor accessory is halving the padding on my armor for no meaningful benefit.

But I'm not premium anyway, so I'd be looking at paying someone else to get the spikes removed provided to buy the item.
