50th train Rogue, Giantman.

Here is my plan that i'm migrating over.

3x hiding
2x range
2x perception
2x ambush
2x pp
1x dodge
1x pt
1x cm
1x armor
.3x climb/swim (15 ranks)
.5x harness(75-80 mana)

I will have 401-414, and 101-103 at my current lvl. I plan to stop once i get to 107.
I am planning to be a sniper. I chose to get spells because i don't like picking and decided why not get them. Since i'm training to be a sniper, i don't really need redux anymore. I plan to get the follow cman skills - Smastery - Mfire - Wspec - those are the man cman skills i'm going for first.

What do you guys think on my plan?

Personally.. I would try for 2x dodging. You may not be able to do this with the spell concentration.. maybe drop hiding from 3x to 2x to accomplish it.

Just a thought.. I know I love my dodging though.

Wspec

I'm not sure this works with archery.

Well i'm not really in a rush to get all the spells, i changed my plan a bit and i'll be 2x in dodge and still be able to get 13 spells 401-413.

Wspec works with the different ammunition of archery, such as a bolt or an arrow.

3x perception

1x FA
1x survival
1.3x trade (68 ranks current lvl)

This is all opinion and certainly up to ones own play style, however, it seems to me that 3x or even 2x dodge with Hide/Snipe is wasteful. Especially if you're doing so at the expense of hide. If anything, you should 3x hide, and 1x dodge. The whole point is to not get hit, and from hiding, you shouldn't. It seems counter productive to me to build a character that's based on hide/snipe and then have a lot of dodge.

With 3x dodge you can hide from most anything - even if you up hunt a little.

I can think of quite a few reasons to have full dodge training even with a sniping character. Although I love the idea of sniping, I doubt hiding works as an exclusive form of defense.

Just some examples: no matter what you'll be forced out of hiding sometimes and dodge is a rogue's main source of DS. Sometimes you'll botch a hide, more often you'll botch a snipe leaving you in the open. Some critters will just ewave you out of hiding, and some critters are perceptive enough to find even 3x hiders.

I think your 1x dodge path will work though. I know other rogues who only 1x dodge and they work well enough... it's just not a path for me.

I 2xed dodge. As a sniping hurler, I am pulled out of hiding about 1/10 times. So I dropped to 1.5x. Still, I find it to be a waste in my points, so I have 60 ranks right now, and I plan on not training in it till it's at 1.25x. If I find that to be enough, I will then drop to 1x.

the point to sniping is NOT being pulled from hiding. With 3x hiding and mastered smastery, you hardly are, at all...

1 year later....... My current plan is

2x range
2x ambush
2x percep
2x dodge
1x cm
.5x harness
425
106(more as i train)
130 armor (casting in hauberk)

hunting OTF, well this is my current goal, currently migrating, i'll let you know how it turns out.

Hope you're still training in PF for some redux. Otherwise, I'd think OTF would eat you for lunch.

Not that I'm some master of OTF, I just see what the Ithzir are doing, and it looks nasty.
