Fucking hysterical. Saw it while watching something on the Eagles on our Comcast Sports channel and looked it up on the internet.

Well, that explains everything. I always tried to keep my sloppy joes from being so sloppy in high school. No wonder Kerry has my vote.

Neat eaters for Kerry!

C'mon man, it's a joke. Lighten up.

The funniest part for locals (or anyone who has gone to Pats or Genos) is the swiss cheese request, heh. It's either Whiz or Provolone, sometimes American.

And the fact that these guys actually put out the money to have it aired when an Eagles Post Game show was on, lol.

I understand it was an attempted joke.

Fact is the election is not a joke and this was an election commercial.

Sorry for not finding the humor.

I’m a beer guzzling hoagie eating guy and I’m voting for Kerry anyway. While I am not fond of foiegras, I do like a good shiraz every now and then.

Because I think electing the imcumbant could very well result in overturning Roe V Wade and also amending the constitution to remove civil rights from a group of people for the first time in the proud history of this great nation does not make me poor company. Sorry, I think the issue is much too serious at this point.

In the words of Arnold, STOP WHINING.

Keller
10-30-2004, 05:46 PM
Shut the fuck up. I said it wasn't funny and explained why it wasn't funny even though I understood it was an attempt at humor. Then I was attacked for being too serious when in fact the issue is fucking serious.

I'll let it slide this time because I know looking at pictures in Maxim never taught you to think critically about what you read, but in the future contemplate what you write before you post it.

You're just mad that Bush is gonna win.

Not according to the Nickelodian Kids poll. Which has predicted every winner since 1988.

Wow Keller stfu.

It's a forum, it's not as if someone came up to you in real life and told you a joke and is forcing a response from you.

It's here to be a funny thread, not to hear you whine like a slut.

If you don't like it you can always just stfu and browse to a different thread.

Wow. I add to a forum by telling you it's not a laughing matter. I've been attacked for my opinion that it is not funny. Please open your eyes. I'm not going to stop contributing just because you don't like what I contribute.

Edited to add: I would like either one of you to show me where I was whining. Please. Defend your senseless claims.

Well, Keller starts U2U'ing me, and here's my reponse:
Well, the subject was on a light subject, a commercial. You obviously have no sense of humor. Take a fuckin chill pill.[/quote]

Keller responds with:
Actually my favorite passtime is watching stand-up. I have quite the sense of humor. Just like I wouldn't laugh at a humorous video of your mother dying, I am not going to laugh at this. It's not a laughing matter.

What..the..fuck? You need to be thrown over a cliff.

Keller
10-30-2004, 06:19 PM
since we're playing this game:

Khel: Watching stand-up does not qualify you to be a humorous person.

Also, a video of my mother dying and a campaign commercial are two totally different subjects you fucking prick.

Keller: me being funny and me having a sense of humor are two different issue. you said I had no sense of humor.

No, the point is you don't find one funny, I don't find the other funny.

Holy shit, we can find different things funny. A novel fucking idea.

Again, I'll ask you to think more critically before you post.

No doubt this election decides the direction of our country. It is serious. The hard right have been emboldened in the past 50 years. You know, those christian capitalists (another oxymoron?).

But that dosen’t mean the good times stop rolling. :2beers: :pirate:

Some people don't find certain things funny. Doesn't mean they need to lighten up. With that said, I'm going with Backlash on this one. Doesn't stop the good times from rolling regardless of who wins.

I eat my hoagies sloppy and can catch a football better than Kerry... what does that mean: nada. He still gets my vote.

Hulkein

Damn, and I posted this with the intention of swaying votes =(

Yes, he does need to lighten up.

If I followed in his steps I'd wait for him to post anything remotely against Bush and talk about the murder of millions of babies a year because of abortion. Next time someone puts a goofy picture of Bush I'll go on and on about being pro-life and how important it is.

Actually, no I won't. I'll let people laugh at a funny picture without interjecting my off-topic thoughts.

Perhaps Keller's mom should've exercised her right to 'choose.'

Or perhaps he should have just been allowed to post his opinion without being told how he should find something funny.

Several people found it amusing; he didn't. That doesn't mean he has no sense of humor. I'm certain I find things amusing that others don't and I know damn well I don't find some things funny others do.

Had everyone just let him not find it funny without lecturing him there'd be no arguement.

I didn't tell him to find it funny, I said lighten up. To me that means 'hey man, it's a joke, not a serious political statement that needs to be countered.'

But you're right, saying nothing would've been the best way to get rid of his political ramblings in a light-hearted thread.

Keller

I was not off-topic. I did not ramble. I did not whine. I did not find it funny.

Anything else?

I saw something on Great Eats or some food show on the Food Network and they showcased cheesesteaks in Philly and I'm sure it was one of the famous places - you have to stand and lean over to eat it and all that.

I spent a month in Philly and there is no place on earth that has em like they do there.

Definately a cute commercial. Damaging? Definately not even close when you compare it to the one that shows Bush looking under tables and laughing saying no WMDs here and then it cuts to a lady who lost her brother in Iraq looking for them.

Heh, Roselady, I was being completely sarcistic. I thought the commercial was funny as shit but I know it won't sway any votes.

That was the main reason I found the commercial so funny, the fact that they shelled out the money to actually get it aired :)

TheRoseLady

Yeah, I realized after I read more of the thread that it was completely about humor. And even though I don't live in Philly - I did find it funny.

Man some people take silly posts too seriously. John Kerry can't eat a hoagy big deal.

Did anyone catch the Bin Laden video skit on SNL Sat? funny

Bin Laden: "I didn't think I was eligible to vote in the US election until 2 Kerry campaigners signed me up, now I am registered in Cincinnati"
