I have access to a fixskills but not a fixstats. I can't figure out how to see my base 0 stats, so I'm not sure if these are set up for training points or max at cap. I need help with the following:
- I want to be able to hunt, but I'm having trouble with Stone Giants/Stone Trolls.
- I enjoy picking but if I need to, I can drop that down to just being able to pick my own boxes and for lower level alts.
- For some reason my ambushing RT is 6 seconds with my falchion, when before it was at the minimum of 5 seconds.
- My AS with a vultite falchion and strength is 315. I wasn't able to determine my DS because I kept dodging/parrying everything.
- CoL master.
Here is the character info. Let me know if you need to know anything else. I'm still getting the hang of every thing after being gone 10+ years.
I apologize for the formatting but I'm not sure how to do tables.
Training area suggestions are very appreciated.

SKILL QUESTION:
Since I'm level 56 and we start at level 0, I'm assuming single train = 57 and double = 114. Is that correct?

OK I can tell you just by looking that your stats are not set to max at cap. It's not a huge issue and can be handled with a fixskill later. You may be able to call billing and ask them to give you one, kind of like an incentive to coming back after so long. I know they've done that before. No guarantee on that though. You are right about the single train and double train. As far as your RT goes, by your agi/dex you have a 3 second reduction in RT without taking encumbrance into account. Ambushing adds 3 seconds to a weapons base speed. Base speed for a falchion is 5 normally, but base speed while ambushing with any weapon 4 base speed or higher is 6. So 6+3=9-3(for agi/dex)=6. Which is your ambush RT. Unfortunately that is as low that you can go with a base weapon speed of 5 since that is the minimum allowed, even if you had higher agi/dex. The only way to get lower under normal circumstances is to use a faster weapon. Base weapon speed 3 like a short sword would get you 5 seconds. As far as you having a problem with stone trolls and giants, what exactly do you mean? Having trouble killing them? Having trouble dieing? Your skills up to this point are fine for both hunting and picking. You are missing out on 23 AS by not being doubled in combat maneuvers but that shouldn't be hurting you to much as long as you are ambushing effectively.

Damn, I was hoping I wouldn't need a fixstats later, but by then maybe I'll have the money saved up.
The trouble with trolls is a low DS and getting hit since I can't one shot them. The giants are boiling me and/or knocking me down, which is also not safe. I also don't seem to have enough AS to kill them Part of my problem is that a long time ago I was sacrificing a lot to get spells, so I'm used to hunting with ewave. When redux came out, that fell out of fashion. I also don't seem to do enough damage against either of them. Unfortunately, I don't remember enough about all the critters to know something else to hunt at this level. If I remember before I was in some place near Ice Mule, where there were avalanches you had to dodge every so often.
I'm not sure of the math between shield use and dodge, would I be better off as 2x shield, 1 dodge than I am with the opposite? Should I stop tripling in disarm/picking to get up the hunting skills? The way I am now, I can't get most bowel boxes which seems to be the high stuff for the Landing.

As a rogue, you can't be a crazy good picker and a crazy good hunter at the same time. So just doubling in pick/disarm to be able to pick your own boxes with 403/404 is the way to go. Both perception and physical fitness help with maneuver defense, so doubling one of those is a good idea if maneuvers are an issue. About shield vs dodge, there has been a lot of discussion about it but I think the general consensus is, if you are going to use a shield, 2x it. What is your current hunting strategy? Are you using silent strike to ambush and remain hidden? Are you legging things first to disable them? Are you sticking to one critter at a time? Are you getting getting fully spelled? If AS is an issue for you, which I don't think it should be because of stance push down when ambushing, consider becoming fully doubled in CM, that's 23 AS like I said, and use Surge of Strength for more. Coup de Grace will also give you an AS boost if you kill with it. Here is a simple training plan for you.
Armor use to 30 for brig
2x OHE
2x Shield
1.5-2x CM
1x Dodge
2x PF
2x Hide
2x Ambush
2x Perception
Harness power up to needed for CoL
That is just basic and all you would need to hunt just fine. Has anybody directed you to the GSwiki yet? It is full of basically everything you would need to know about this game. Including class guides and hard math for the nerds if you so desire. Also I'd recommend getting with a like level rogue in game if you can and watch them hunt. You just gotta knock the rust off man, ha-ha.

For a rogue you 2x dodge before you 2x shield and you want to 2x shield to get swiftness before doing 3x dodge. Also, use a small shield.
As said you can either hunt well, pick well, or middle of the road. Stone trolls/giants are also just annoying to hunt for most rogues. If you want easier hunting you can just hunt else where unless you are just that stuck on the landing.

Thanks. I haven't really hunted any because I'm not familiar enough with the critters yet. I spent most of my previous time in Darkstone, and don't know much else. I would either ewave/headshot or leg/headshot, or haste/chest shot on troll kings.
I haven't really used my CMAN maneuvers because I forgot about those. I currently have:
your Combat Maneuver training is as follows:
Skill name Mnemonic Ranks
Shadow Mastery smastery 4
Dirtkick dirtkick 1
Silent Strike silentstrike 4
Specialization I wspec1 1
Combat Mobility mobility 2
Available Combat Maneuver Training Points: 9
Total Points converted during your current 30-day unlearning cycle: 10
Number of days remaining in your current 30-day unlearning cycle: 5 days
If I do a fixskills will that allow me to redo CMANs if I messed something up? Or do you have to get a separate CMAN fixing potion?

That training plan is possible, including doubling Perception and Physical Fitness, and doing more than 1.5 in CMAN (90-ish ranks). Thanks very much for your help. I suppose I should update my weapon and armor too, I sold my 10x falchion, shield and brig before leaving.

Make sure you unlearn all shield specs, armor specs and cmans before you fixskill. Then just set everything to 0 ranks and fixskill confirm. You'll get all the points back when you add ranks to the respective skills
