Hot Sorcerer Nights continues!


We'll see how well you can disintegrate me if your mind can't function!

Mind Jolt (706) now shows the target a glimpse of a demonic valence, which has a horrifying (stunned) effect upon the target. In addition, it now has a chance to carry over to a new target if the initial target dies while the effect is still active. The % chance is (2 * seed 2 summation of the caster's Sorcerous Lore, Demonology ranks). If the new target fails a regular warding check, half of the remaining duration from the original cast will be applied.

I dont have the switching, but here is the new messaging:

For a brief, terrible, moment, your mind is opened to an unspeakable valence of being! You are stunned!

Basically they are changing the flavor to be more demonic, but they are not changing which creatures if affects or any of the mechanics.

The siren gives a plaintive wail before she slumps to her side and dies.
The brilliant luminescence fades from around a siren.

A burst of searing light flashes around a siren, surging wildly before disappearing!
CS: +545 - TD: +395 + CvA: +20 + d100: +71 == +241
Warding failed!
A siren's eyes flash with a searing jolt of light!
She is badly stunned!

You feel 3 mana surge into you!
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

This would have been the perfect update to Maelstrom (710), but still fairly neat.

Also, I thought they were done, with the 705 update. This is nice, and maybe some more spells will be updated, which would be even more cool.

So far the theme for Sorcerer reviews is, "Hey, see that guy? Fuck that guy."

Edit: And I mean that in the context that two sorcs are sitting around, chumming it up and then someone they don't like comes through the door. Yeah, that's what I mean.

Yes, that is how every other class is viewing sorcerers during HSN.

Doubt many sorcerers give a damn after being strapped to the barrel since growing pains.

LOL, strapped to the barrel?

They got nerfed so they can't one shot shit with DC constantly from their 1000 CS, and they still mostly can one-shot everything anyway.

Cross realms transport
Ensorcell (the best money maker in the game currently)
Custom nightmares
Demons
Sanct breakers

Boy, if only all of the other professions had all been "strapped to the barrel"

I am happy for these changes for sorcs as they definitely seem to be making them more "sorcery", but they need to reassess CMAN stamina costs and maybe even just CMAN costs in general across the board for squares.
