Container Capacity Limits

Has there ever been a service offered or do they offer it every once in awhile to change a container limit from holding several items to any number of items?

Sure, like 15 years ago. I had a pair of pants that could hold medium amount upgraded by "deepening" to hold the same weight, but have no item limit.

Unfortunately, it seems merchants these days are absolutely 100% against increasing the holding limit. I've asked at every deepening service to have my old doeskin britches increased from 2 pockets to more, and it has always been denied.
