Anyone playing this? It's a Blizzard MOBA without all the items of LOL and whatnot, I never really got into LoL or Dota but Heroes is pretty fun and quick, 10-20 min games. Would probably be fun to quick match with a group, I've mostly been doing AI matches to learn the heroes and unlock their full talents to try them out (the talents are completely unlocked at hero level 4, which is 2-3 games or so).

I played it during Beta.. haven't tried it since it's actual release. I liked it more than LOL because LOL relied on laning and last hitting so much... and I was terrible at last hitting shit.

I found myself really enjoying HotS.

My only complaint is that it seems too easy for the 'lower level' team to catch up exp-wise.

Never played LoL, but judging from HotS, having to ensure last-hit would be a major PITA.

Yeah, you don't have to last-hit and the whole team shares the XP pool so everyone on your team levels up together. It's also free to download with the ability to buy heroes/skins/skins for mounts/different mounts. They rotate a batch of characters that are available for free for like a week, and by I think player level 12 you unlock all of the free slots which is cool. You can also buy the heroes with gold that you earn from playing, I've bought I think 5 or 6 heroes so far, all from gold that I got from daily quests/playing.

I do agree that the enemy team seems pretty able to catch up unless you can really work together as a team and lock them/the objectives down.

I should have mentioned this site too: http://www.heroesfire.com/. Different builds for the heroes so you can see what's more effective for different playstyles. Seems really useful, once you unlock a hero's full talents at level 4 your build can make a big difference on how your hero plays/survives.

I haven't tried her yet, so far I'm mostly partial to Raynor, Valla, LiLi, Malfurion and kinda Anub'arak. I just tried a different Anub build last night with shielded bugs and stuff that lets me push towers all by myself even with no minions. It's pretty awesome.

I just started ranked play (a whole 5 games in) and have moved up a couple ranks. Not a fan of the new map released today but overall the game is fun. It is definitely much easier than LoL, which I play too. I'm Nekk#1706 if anyone wants to add me.

I dig it. You are always in the fight and you can swing games wildly. It also saves on the item purchasing or blind pick time waste of LoL and most games are settled in 20 minutes. The fast action appeals to me, but it seems to be a gap game for a lot of people.

I like LiLi because she has great heals, she has a slow and she has great escapability.

That treasure thing only happened a couple of times.. and it wasn't my fault! I was playing a dwarf at the time and the yellow dot on the mini-map means "GO TO ME NOW AND COLLECT THE TREASURE!"

No idea about the servers. You can buy the heroes with gold also, which you earn from daily quests, some level-ups, and just playing games.

Weeks of consecutive daily play.

One strategy, aside from ensuring you do the 'daily quest(s)' is to get all heros you play via rotation to L5, for the first +500g reward (each).

I don't like that Tychus got the interrupt removed from his grenade (on a lot of abilities and ultimates). I've now got no way to stun/interrupt which sucks.

I stopped playing Tychus when they nerfed his ult down. It used to be that his Odin he called down would have it's own health.. when it "died", it would fall off and Tychus would have whatever health he had when he went into it.

So I uh, started a game and walked away to see if my team would win, on the training thing. And got 148,000 XP when my team won in 11 minutes.

I don't think I have won faster than 9 minutes when I do play. Wonder if they are going to nerf this 'free exp'?

Also, when does the week reset, for a different set of heroes to play?

Reset is Tuesdays. Right now there is a bonus xp weekend. That is why it was so high. Normally training xp is painfully low.

If you're using the Odin you're doing it wrong anyway. Babysit the laser drill and win.

Odin was pre-nerf. It was completely OP and no on e bothered using the laser back then.

Finished a game, and instead of Victory screen it went straight to a log out screen with none of my account info on it. Usually it saves my login name at least. Weird.

Been playing some Sylvanas and Stitches during their free week. At first I didn't care for Sylvanas, but a couple of games later when I had a decent feel for her and my opinion changed. She's great for ganking and finishing off heroes, I love blasting someone running away with a few withering fire blasts for the kill.

Also really enjoying Stitches for basically the same reason. He can take a huge amount of damage while punishing the other team, and strategically hooking the enemy heroes into range of your towers or into your team, or gorging on them and running back into your minion/hero clump is really fun. I was sitting on some gold and couldn't decide which one I wanted to buy, but I ended up going with Stitches because most of my heroes so far are ranged of some sort.

I haven't had any real problems going up against most butchers though, you just have to pay attention to what abilities are being used and counter accordingly.

Friend someone on here and get another 50% exp bonus to level up fast. Between the free one, and the one you get at level 12, you can get to level 25 fairly easy and not have to worry about unlocking the abilities on new trial heroes each week.

Actually makes it worth it to make a second account, if you don't have the cash or gold to buy the heroes you want. Just get different ones on each account.
