thanks - also... I could have sworn there was a verb like who <name> and it would give you more info on them.. level, or race or whatever...
Is there a word other than who I should be using? Or did they break it
Aannndandddd, what happened to Ensorcell? I thought it added TD to items...

Nothing, it doesn't directly raise TD (to armor/shields) but instead lowers CvA, which does the same effective thing in the equation.

I could have sworn ensorcell used to be like tied in with enchanting, and you could not go over 10x between the two.. One was DS and one was TD, permanent. Now I see 8x items with t5 ensorcell. Ah well. I never claimed to have a good memory.

That was the original idea, I believe, for ensorcell. They decided to go with something more grand then just having a bland +TD thing.

That was TD boosting gear and DS enchants, and has only applied to the RtCF event rules.
Before and after that, it was not linked.
Zelnorn is about the thing permanently linked like that (AS+DS). Defender gear can be sometimes is but also varies on an event's rules.

I've seen it applied MANY years prior to RtCF.

Kerl told me that wasn't the case before and am sure he's familiar on the topic.
Besides, it was moot before as no one was near 10x combined (other than him). They also hadn't done a TD service since 2009's CCF and that was +5 if applied to existing TD gear (+10 if not). I don't see any enchantment limitations for the service rules:
Only 1-2 TD boosters will be given out during each run of this event. This service is considered a major one. Only one major service can be won by each individual during each event run.
This will add a +10 TD to armor or shield. No non-fluff scripted items. Armor or shields with existing TD bonuses will either have their bonus increased by +5 OR have their bonus increased to 10, whichever is greater.
Keep in mind that TD takes up the same slot as flares and padding. If your armor or shield has either flares or padding, then it cannot have a TD bonus added to it. Spikes and resistance do not prevent TD bonuses from being added.

I think prior to that event, TD gear like his krodera wasn't released for a decade at least.

Good for Kerl telling you. I clearly remember the issue from around 2001ish and people mentioning that ensorcell was going to be doing that. It wasn't krodera, it was TD boosting items, a shield in particular that I recall.

I'm speaking about TD enhancement.
If you're going back to the drawing board of ensorcellment from 2001, I have no idea. Other than since it's release it has had no limtation based on item enchant nor is supposed to. It is indirect "TD". It lowers CvA.

Yeah, that is what I, and I believe Aesthetic, were talking about. There were a few items that were released with +TD on them. This is before the current enhancive system existed and all that, as it was still GS3.

Ah, I think I see.
I don't remember the initial talks for ensorcell back in 2001 but it was released in 2013 and you mentioned you've seen it applied many times before RtCF so I assumed you meant pay events (for TD).
It never went live for ensorcell (the enchantment + TD) I guess, yay.

Oh, no, I didn't mean pay events specifically. Just that these items were treated as enchanted with both added together... Like +20DS/+6TD was a 6x.

But did that combining of the two have an actual impact somewhere or was that just a cultural thing to describe an item?
I mean were there restrictions from a merchant, the old enchant spell, or a surcharge from premie points?
Edit:
Because it was my understanding no one approached 10x back then since the service didn't exist and the items spit out via whatever methods (quests/events) were lower enchant.

I think it was mostly described as such if you happened upon a merchant that was doing enchanting for stuff 6x and below. All that was a bit more rare back then, either way.

So an extra fee for the enchantment, or not getting the work at all if over the merchant's enchant limit.

There is also the ;inspectweight script on the lich repo, you can download that and add it to your autostart/favs.
;repo download inspectweight
when done
;autostart add --global inspectweight
Unless you're still on old ass lich then it's like
;favs add --global inspectweight
i forget the favs usage exactly.
Then when you inspect containers, it will add the capacity in pounds inline to the inspect message. There is a similar one for armor as well (inserts the asg/base armor name dependent on the coverage and armor class)

if you wanna know how much weight a container can hold just download this from lich ;capacity . that will show how much a container will hold when you inspect it . here a example
>inspect backpack
You carefully inspect your spidersilk backpack.
You estimate that a night black spidersilk backpack can store a huge amount (140-159 pounds) with enough space for any number of items.
You determine that you could wear the backpack on your back. The backpack appears to serve some purpose.
this add-on from lich the best one ive found fer amount a container can hold info
