Is the word bitch, when refering to a male, sexually derogatory? I tried to make this a poll but I have no where to put the poll options.

Degogatory, haha. I know it's a typo but it made me laugh. I think it's more of a way of referring to a guy as a pansy, I'm not sure what you mean by "sexually" derogatory, unless in referring to him as a feminine pansy you're insinuating he's homosexual.

Heh. Good question.
I don't see it as a sexually derogatory term when used in this way. I see the word "bitch", as it's used these days, as meaning about the same thing as "jackass". It's gender neutral, to me. :)

point is Tsa'ah removed the word bitch from a post I made because he deemed it derogaTIVE (I'm a moron). That's his perogative and I'm not going to go around calling him a thread nazi, but at the same time I disagree. Wondering what other people thought.

I'd have to see the context myself. And like Spun, I'm uncertain just what 'sexually derogatory' means. Insulting to women? Insulting to the guy who's being called it?

Sometimes, a word(s) may be deemed to be a problem within the context of a post. If a thread is going seriously off-topic, or if a post is seen to be one that may instigate a board-battle, it may be edited for those reasons.
It's not always easy to determine the intent of words used in posts. Sometimes, a word might be used jokingly (or semi-jokingly), while other times the same word can take on a much more offensive meaning. Much depends, as I said before, on the context in which the word is used. :)

Also, you are NOT a moron. Derogatory is just as correct as derogative. ;)
No.
Example: She is a bitch.
Example: He is a bitch.
See, you weren't even remotely offended, in fact I think you kinda enjoyed this example.

is there a way to replace my post to it's authentic state seeing as no one has said that it is in anyway sexually degogogogogtive?

Bitch was not edited from your log. Fag, faggot, and homo were.
This was explained in U2U.

At one time being called a bitch was an insult, but now I think being called a bitch is a complement.
Bitch=strong woman who doesn't take crap.

I beg to differ.... Someone calls me a bitch and I don't care when it happens or what the reason, daggers immediately shoot from my eyes.. :P

Bitch=strong woman who doesn't take crap. It's nice to reduce the power of a word, but that's really an incorrect definition. For instance: CT is a strong woman who doesn't take crap. I would never (ever) call CT a bitch.
Now, no one can force someone to take a word a certain way, but I've never heard someone called a bitch as a compliment, nor were the traits being described complimentary.

The word bitch can be taken in a few ways as can the "N" word which i detest to even right .Unfortunately people now a days have grown so numb and/or self empowering that they can take a word thats negative or derogatory an change the whole meaning of its original purpose/definition. I personally dont like the words nor would i never use them to insult or compliment anyone however they would take it.
just my opinion tho :::shrugs:::
