Found a bow inside of a quiver, selling both as a package deal since they have grown attached to one another and can't stand to be apart from each other.

This is a longbow.

a garnet-veined ebon mesille bow
Look description: The limbs of the bow have been covered in mottled tones of grey and black, the thick layers leaving the surface uneven and splotchy at best. Inset between the fissures are flakes of garnet and heliodor, the jewels highlighted amongst the darkened layers like lava flowing slowly down volcanic rock to pool along the grip. Branded into the lower limb is a series of gilded calligraphy, the writing almost melded into the bow.
Weight: 3 pounds
Bonus: +15
Alteration restrictions: None
Can be lightened: Yes
Wearable location: shoulder

In the Common language, it reads:
Volcanic Fury

a bronze-throated kakore quiver
Look description: You see nothing unusual.
Purpose: wearable container
Alteration restrictions: None
Max lightened: Yes
Pockets can be deepened: No
Wearable location: back
Storage capacity: small amount
Wearable location: shoulder

Won't someone find this quiver brother and bow sister a good home?

If this doesn't make it a fire flare granting bow, it is immediately not as cool.

D:

That's what I was thinking too, thought maybe it did something awesome like that. I fired a few arrows with it but I didn't see anything special. Then again none of my characters are bow users so maybe it does something cool when an archer uses it.

Is this a longbow?

Good question. How does one find this information out? Inspecting and analyzing and loresinging didn't tell me.

Gonna fire it at some critters and check the AvD to find out.

Okay, fired it at a lesser orc wearing a leather breastplate and the AvD was 29 and the only bow I see with an AvD of 29 is longbow so I'm going with longbow.

Usually inspect shows it

This is what inspect and analyze show:

>You carefully inspect your ebon mesille bow.

After a careful inspection you determine that a garnet-veined ebon mesille bow requires skill in ranged weapons to use effectively.

You determine that you could wear the bow, slinging it across your shoulders and back. The bow appears to serve some purpose.

It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of mesille.

>You analyze your ebon mesille bow and sense that the item is free from merchant alteration restrictions.

You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the ebon mesille bow for you.
