is it possible to open an account with GOA?

i was wondering if its possible to open an account with GOA and have a character transfered onto the account?

I don't have any experience with this, but per the website it looks like the recipient would already need a play.net account to receive a GoA, and as long as it isn't F2P you should be able to transfer a character to it.

When you open an account whether it is new or old you don't pay right away. You'd still likely have to provide payment information but you'd have time for someone to send you a GoA or send one to someone before the first billing cycle.
