The corruption has been going on a long long time. One report says 25 years and Blatter claims to have no knowledge of it. He is either lying and complicit or incompetent.
His stay is untenable.

I suspect a big part of the reason the US arrested these clowns is because we collectively don't really give a fuck if we lose future matches. Every other country is too invested in the desire to get a world cup.

X was great.
X-2 was so stupid you'd have to google it to comprehend the idiocy. They took out all the main characters and backstory, added all the female characters from X, gave them all guns, and gave them outfits based on the skillset they were using.
Lightning's game was stupid because it's just a bad game. There's guns everywhere, it's no longer about the martial marvels. It's about shooting people and boss fights that are... scripted. With scripts that you're told. It's just a dumb game. Dumb dumb dumb.

And even if they did, we don't have jurisdiction over them for their actions in Qatar. That'd be Qatar.

Before you get into some transcendental "everything can always be better" bullshit, just nip it. Could things be better? Sure. On two conditions, and they are mutually exclusive in human reality...

1) Everyone, all 7+ billion of us on this planet (excluding only most minors) finally realizes that we're all on this rock together, whether we like it or not, and quit squabbling over petty (relative to the Universe and our place in it) shit like religion and borders and focus on expanding our (collective) consciousness towards the Universe and beyond.

Sweetheart, you brought up a big topic that has many people making comments.

As an American I was surprised at this news. Honestly I was like, "the fuck is America doing with FIFA?" it's not their jurisdiction.

Then I read about it and yeah there have been some money transactions through American banks that look shadey. Then I figured, yes I have been following the whole FIFA corruption thing for a while, that America could act as the scapegoat for everyone who has been saying FIFA is corrupt for a long time.

Thus your cheering something being done about it by someone outside of the conventional normality of who actually consists within the sphere of FIFA nations. Understandably, the US has had complicity and cooperation from within the sphere of FIFA participants.

Your enthusiasm is appreciated. While I would like to think this is about the poor conditions of minimum wage workers... perhaps I am too jaded by this world to think it is about advertisers and moguls.

Simply that the US did not unilaterally do this alone.

Yeah, my wording was vague. But think about it. How big is FIFA? How, and even why, would the US get involved?

Yeah, it's about the money. But I also believe the US is not acting alone on this. There has to have been many actors involved who all agreed that the US would be the enforcer in this.

From what I've read some of the money transactions and discussions about bribes have taken place in the US.

"The next step in the FIFA corruption investigation is extradition, whereby federal officials will attempt to bring suspects to the United States to face allegations they arranged bribes at meetings on U.S. soil, employed the U.S. banking system in conveying the bribes and created documents to cloak their activity, Lynch said."

So, NO ONE should ever get involved because it isn't Human Rights based. Let them keep being corrupt. Hey, Russia agrees with you Back.

Dude, this is completely untrue. I've paid all my debts, there is ample evidence backing that up. I haven't paid THIS ONE SPECIFIC, PARTICULAR BET because it was never a bet.

After all this time you're still a cunt? Nice to see you posting again. :)

Yup...still a bellend.

You tell me. You progressive sorts always want things to move forward just for the sake of doing so, with no real intent or goal. I can only assume that means you're not happy with where things are at.

2) One side wins. And you get annoyed when people depict libertarians as isolationists. Ha!

This is the Sports topic. Please take your other pansy ball pastimes to some other folder. These include but are not limited to: Paddle ball, jacks, superballs, bouncy balls, beach balls, bowling and especially soccer. More boring than baseball, and i didn't think that was possible.

If you can’t tell already, Jennings is an advocate of slow, methodical journalism. For half a century, the 71-year-old investigative reporter has been digging into complex, time-consuming stories about organized crime. In the 1980s, it was bad cops, the Thai heroin trade and the Italian mob. In the ’90s, he turned to sports, exposing corruption with the International Olympic Committee.

“This journalism business is easy, you know. You just find some disgraceful, disgustingly corrupt people and you work on it! You have to. That’s what we do. The rest of the media gets far too cozy with them. It’s wrong. Your mother told you what was wrong. You know what’s wrong. Our job is to investigate, acquire evidence.”

Awesome.

Russia losing the WC would have to happen in a hurry, by early 2016 at the latest*, and I don't know if FIFA will have elected a new president by then. It's not going to happen while Blatter is still president of FIFA.

*If you're wondering why does it have to been that early, WC qualifying will start in 2016, and the host country gets to skip qualifying.
