Hello,

I have been looking on gswiki but can't seem to work this one out so any help would be appreciated.

Basically I use a maul, I understand that the minimum roundtime for a maul is 5 seconds and I get that when I just ATTACK a critter. When I AMBUSH a critter and hit I get a roundtime of 7 seconds - can I reduce this 7 seconds any further? If so, what stats/skills/etc will reduce it?

Ambushing adds 3 seconds to your RT. 1 Second will always apply, but the other two can be mitigated. So the minimum maul ambush rt is 6.

Mauls have a base RT of 7 seconds. Ambushing with Mauls makes it 10 seconds, with 4 being mitigible. Mitigating additional RT is a function of DEX Bonus + Agility Bonus. Since you have a 7s swinging RT with it now, that implies that your DEXAGL is between 38 and 52. Once you hit 53 DEXAGL, that will increase RT reductions from 3 to 4. (weird way of phrasing, but read it a few times, it probably makes sense)

Alternatively, if you have the DEXAGL necessary, it may be related to the armor you're wearing, and your current armor training. Not fully training off armor can result in additional RT.

Lastly, encumbrance. If you're encumbered, RT, etc... but that's much more straight forward, and nothing you said implies that's the problem.
