It was announced, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, but they haven't given a date. I wouldn't be surprised if it is next year.

I'm really hoping for a game that combined space battles and ground battles... Like Star Wars Empire at War... But you know, better ground battles.

I don't think it would be possible to make a RTS game that truly captures the epic nature of war in wh40k.

No, not really. The closest I can see is like Empires at War had. You have a fleet, you knock out the fleet/stations defending a planet, then you land on the planet and kill all the enemies. One battle on land to take a planet. I think it could be progressed a lot if, say for instance, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada interfaced with Dawn of War 2 or 3(Please create a 3 you son of a bitches). It'd be just about perfect.

I enjoyed the Dawn of War games a lot but the battles were on the small size. 3, which is being made I'm told, is supposed to feature more units and larger sized battles.

When was 3 announced? They might do it at E3, which is... next month I think.

There hasn't been any announcement of it yet. A friend of mine used to work at Relic and he says they are working on it.

It was announced in 2010, and then unannounced. There are rumors it may be announced again soon.
