Looking for examples of people using extras for fletching so I can make my script user friendlier.
Drill/arrowhead/caps
Paint/paint stick/paint stick 2
Scribe
Other misc tools
Also a few usages of flip verb with various arrows
Hopefully going to have this ready in a week or so. Should master fletching by then.

You remove a single arrow from a bundle of arrows.
>flick my scrib
With a slight flick of the wrist a sharp veniom-tipped scriber suddenly appears in your hand!
>rub scrib on my arrow
Using your scriber, you carefully scribe your mark into your arrow.
Roundtime: 5 sec.

Does the scribe ever fail?
also what does it change anything with "FLIP"?

Never fails, no change on flip, just basically adds writing to the arrow
>rub my scrib on my arrow
Using your scriber, you carefully scribe your mark into your arrow.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
>read my arrow
In the Common language, it reads:
Scribed into the shaft is a complex pattern of long, weaving scripts of arcane runes.
Unique scriber that one

Drills/Arrowheads/Caps do master fletchers ever fail at using them?

Not that I'm aware of... although, caps/drills/arrowheads were introduced after I was a master. We could try using them on a low level character to see if I can get some failure messages?

I got a few failures while ranking up and trying things, but it was more of a you screwed this up because your unskilled failure. I was curious if I had to worry about masters failing. My script will only be for mastered to fully fletch the arrow and I don't want to have to code in a failure section but if I have to I will.

Even at master, I've found maybe 1 in 300-500 random failures for some reason or another.

Damn, so Ill have to plug away for a while to get a few failure messages to code in. Ok. Thanks whirlin, as always very helpful

I actually wouldn't bother building in a failure routine on each step... An easier way to accomplish that would be to do a glance, ensure that you still have a shaft/arrow in your hand, look at the shaft, and proceed to the next part of the script. Just to levelset on each part rather than assuming everything will be done sequentially, and correctly.
That way, the script will also theoretically work for unmastered people

The only part of the script that would need the check would be the added arrowhead section. I could make it check every step...I'll have to look at it when I get home tonight

I think it's possible to fail the fletchings at master as well...
But, here's the little snippet from my .wiz fletching script... Obviously doesn't take coloring into account
Match step1 rough
Match step2 has been pared down and smoothed
Match step3 been pared down, smoothed, and cut with nocks
Match step4 pared down, smoothed, nocked, and cut to length
Match step5 nocked, cut to length, and fletched
Put Look at my Shaft

Yeah. Its going to be fun that's for sure. Colors and fletchings...I cringe thinking about razors and feathers.

I wouldn't code for that nonsense... just scribing. People can break down their own feathers on their own damn scripts!

Would UserVars be good for the settings?
I'm worried that they get reset somehow.
