Question on OTF Thieving

Had a discussion earlier tonight and I honestly couldn't remember if the Ithzir would take worn items off your body. I seem to remember that they will open bags and steal items from them. If they do take worn items, is it limited to trinkets and such or is there a possibility that they might take something like your armor?

Someone was telling me to put a bag inside a bag. So I'm guessing to wear a backpack or whatever and then put everything inside another backpack inside your wearable one.

Also, I was told to toss a few gems around cause they seem to like those best. But not proven.

And, I was also told that a rogue can put locks on your containers and they stop them from looting you.
