Need some advice.

I can either get the topcoat (first picture) or the shorter wool coat and a pair of jeans (second and third). Suggestions?

I swear I'm not gay.

42R and 6'1.

Shorter Coat and Jeans. And then while your at it you can bleech your hair and spike it.

Yes, shorter coat and jeans.

I like the second coat better. The first one to me looks a bit raggedy, though that could just be due to the pic being crappy?

I don't know...SNAPP??????? ;p

Shorter coat and jeans, 100%

The first one looks raggedy because it's from Abercrombie, and they think that wrinkling all their shit on their site makes it look better.

Weedmage Princess

That explains it.

Yeah, I like option 2 better.

Shorter coat and jeans. I hate the way Abercrombie wrinkles all their shit like that.

PS. Weedie is old.

Real men don't wear coats.

Edaarin

I thought the topcoat would look good for whenever I have to wear a suit. Which is going to be maybe 4 or 5 times before it gets warm again.

Latrinsorm

The inside is too shiny on the topcoat.

Weedmage Princess
10-18-2004, 08:31 PM
Good point, it probably would look better with a suit. So get both.

2nd choice looks better. Although you should ask yourself which you would get more use out of and that would be your answer.

The grey one is awesome, but the bottom one will be more versatile. You can wear that with more casual stuff, the grey one not so much unless you want people to start thinking you're a Starbucks edgy java freak who recites poetry.

Top coat. London sheek. Much betta.

Bottom combination is too 'OMG, like I just met the cutest boy in a San Francisco pub on the Haight' gayish.

Top one. Asians constantly dressed to the nines (or half naked) are hot.

Drew2

Darker jeans. Black with lighter blue jeans doesn't look as good as black with darker blue jeans.

And I'm sure you already knew this, but if you're wearing a black coat, thou shall not wear brown shoes.

Also, I don't remember what your skin tone is exactly, but I think it's lighter. So, wear lighter colors under the black coat. Light skin with all dark colors makes you look even lighter.

Light/white skin is so not in.

The topcoat is pretty fly. The other two are just... normal.

If you or anyone buys that first coat, I'll shoot you.

Abercrombie is overrated. Their style only works for some. Most try to use it and fail miserably.

I guess I should get a haircut (maybe two) before I worry about things like skin tone, though.

Grown out hair IS in, but it has to be maintained properly.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say yours is not.

Topcoat but don't let it be wrinkled. Let me find a pic of a decent one. What are you looking to spend?

I've got a brown topcoat for when I'm wearing brown shoes, black one for black shoes, and a camel one if I want to be alittle lighter or if I'm wearing a lighter colored suit (tan or some such.) Get one that has at least three buttons but since you're a bit skinny, being a 42R(you should be a 42L since you're over 6' so whoever measured you is wrong) stay away from Double Breasted.

Now, something I said last paragraph, you should be in 42L jackets as a 42R will really be a bit short and not cover your seat properly, sleeves you can always shorten to taste but the body of the suit coat needs to be able to cover your ass when you're standing up.

Also if you get a short coat it's going to make your legs look real long and your torso stumpy, stick with a 3/4 to full length overcoat in that regard.

<--- Also not gay but damnit if I can't out shop my wife.

I’d go with the long coat. Forget Ambercrombie though. Hit a thrift store.

Some of us can't help the fact that the sun hates us. I tried to tan in Florida this summer, damnit. My skin just like... reflected the light rays and refused to get any darker. :(

They are to different..... both the top coat and the set is nice. Depends, which do you need more?

Good taste for sure :)

Second coat and jeans. But, I like the topcoat too. Is it a pea coat? Everyone needs to have a pea coat!

Edaarin
10-19-2004, 01:04 AM
It's a little long to be a pea coat.

Souzy
10-19-2004, 01:05 AM
yeah well...I didn't know how long it went. It sorta looks like a pea coat to me, so I had to question it.

Hulkein

I would probably get the second one.

I need a new coat myself, I'll go find one tomorrow and keep Tayre's (http://www.realitytvcalendar.com/shows/pics/queereye.jpg) advice in mind.

The food guy, second from the left as you look at that picture is from Indiana. He also always seems to be the best dressed.

Sheek? Sheek?!?!?!!? The word is chic, people. This reminds me of a magazine interview I read with Paris Hilton where she wrote down her own answers. When asked what her style was, she replied, "Shiek, sexy." What is she, a condom?

Edaarin should get an executive, if we're recommending stuff outside of the first two pics. Then he could not only be stylin', but profilin' as well.

Let me see if I can find some pictures of the suits, overcoats, etc that I currently own.

Anticor: 35 pair of shoes and still going.

I went with the topcoat.

I needed a new winter coat anyway....

I like the coat in Anticor's picture :D

Edaarin

See, I don't like the coat in Anticor's post. It looks somewhat bulky. The topcoat I wound up getting looks redunculous now that I've gotten it tailored.

Also, style != gay. Where I go to school, girls appreciate guys that dress well.

Agreed! :)

Another peacoat suggestion, although I'd stick with black buttons, not the gold pictured, they are a little tacky, IMO

BTW, George Michaels is dirty, so anything he says/sings can't be taken seriously.

That's a great-looking blazer, Edaarin! What's wrong with the pants?

Heh. Okay, I get your drift. Could you get them altered, or possibly exchange them for a different size? It's a good-looking ensemble!

Massive bump...but this is what I'm wearing on a first date tomorrow night.

New summer blazer...on sale for $109 from Polo.com. And yes, that's a pink shirt.
