Kinda surprised this franchise doesn't already have a thread here, it seems like throwing Grand Theft Auto, Leisure Suit Larry, Monty Python, and Borderlands into a blender would appeal to a good segment of our users.

At any rate, for the next couple days, the entire franchise is on sale on Steam for pretty stupid cheap.

The full pack....2, 3, and 4 with all DLC...is only 13 bucks. Crazy.

If you don't want all three games, I would suggest Saints Row IV: game of the century edition...7 bucks.

Agreed, 3 and 4 are where it's at.

Unfortunately it's cheaper to buy the full pack at 13 bucks than it is to buy just 3 and 4 individually.

Anyway, imo SR 3 is good, but you do kinda feel like you're in an alternate-reality GTA. SR4 seems like what the series was supposed to be all along. Campy, action-packed, humorous, exciting...just plain fun.

The text adventure and side-scroller were the high points of the last one, for me.

I played 4 first and thoroughly enjoyed it. Tried 3 and couldn't get into it. I look forward to the next entry.

I'm not sure which one I played, either 2 or 3 on the PC, and it was terrible.

4 is a nice change of pace from GTA. The Super powers, especially flying, are quite nice. This is definitely a series where the order in which you play them effects how you view the sequels.

It doesn't really move beyond 4.
