I'm excited, yet apprehensive about the Bucs taking Jameis as their #1 pick.

I'm a huge FSU fan and loved watching Winston play, but the comparisons to JaMarcus Russell make me cringe.

Hard not to think he won't blow it in some way or another. Kinda like the idiot Miami moved up for in '13, Dion Jordan. Dude's been suspended for nearly half of his short career if you count the 16 games he's going to miss this year.

As a Buc fan, I do not want Winston. Not one bit. I'd prefer they traded down, built the defensive and offensive line and went with Glennon (Who I don't think is a bad QB at all).

I'm still holding out hope that the Bengals trade up to the first pick with Dalton to get Winston...sigh.

I'm just happy they denied that fool Collins his request to get removed from the draft, sorry but character really does matter

8pm EST on ESPN I think.

I'm with you on Winston, PB...although a Giants fan, the Bucs are the local team, so I support them as long as they're not playing the G-men. I've seen a lot of good things about Winston, but also some things that make me question whether or not he's going to be able to pull it off at the NFL level. I guess we'll see. The Bucs also have the 34th overall pick, should still be a good offensive lineman on the board...they're going to need to shore up some of the issues they had with their O-line last year if they expect Winston to have any sort of success.

Yeah, which is why Winston just might go #1 overall.

Winston is gonna flop and we will all laugh at tampa for a decade, but it is tampa after all. mayweather getting tens of millions to fight while ray rice is blackballed should really tell ya how much character really matters to most people

Yep, it is Tampa. You know it's bad when your friends know nothing about football, but still know enough to make fun of your team. How far we've fallen from that Hall of Fame defense.

I'm exactly in the same situation. I grew up a Giants fan and will be one forever, but I have to root for the home town team.

Winston to Bucs - no surprise
Mariotta to Titans - I'm not surprised.. but I thought they would trade down since they have a decent QB

Dear god no! No no no! Stop taking QBs! FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST DON'T MAKE ME WATCH MICHAEL VICK AGAIN.

C'mon Jets! Do something right!

Edit: And by do something right, I of course do not mean fix your secondary. Because I mean come on. Dog fights I can forgive. But Michael Vick was an Eagle. COME ON. I am however excited to see if Geno can pull through. I like him, and I'm kind of wondering if he was mismanaged through the Rex Ryan meat grinder. So...if you MUST stick with Vick, let Geno beat him out, and get yourself an OLB. Let's go, Jets!

Jets will be rolling with Fitzpatrick most likely next year. Good luck with that.

Also, Floyd mayweather is a piece of shit. If he had a videotape of himself beating his girlfriend it'd be different. Everything changed with Ray rice when the video leaked. The American public is so easy to manipulate.

They still could trade mariotta to Philly. Perhaps TEN is waiting to see who's available later in the first round.

Ugh. DE. I'll take it, but if I have to watch Vick at all this year, I'm gonna be super pissed. I don't care if they run some sort of stupid wildcat with Geno and Ryan Fitzpatrick. I would rather they fielded zero QBs and just ran the ball then have to watch that bum.

I think he'll be a good DE. Been highly rated for awhile.

True story, and the Jets have always (at least since I've known them) been about defense. They look like they might have gotten some of that back. But the commentators were right. They could stand to give Geno some help at WR. And I like Chris Ivory. I like Bilaal Powell, but neither are feature backs. Nobody's going to be so worried about the run to give your struggling, young QBs and their mediocre receiving core any breathing room.

He'll be perfect for you in New York, then. Dude has some pretty good games and then he'll go and shit the bed.

Not much trade excitement yet. Schefter says the Rams are about to make an interesting move/pick

Don't know if I agree with drafting another RB when they have Tre Mason already

Knew it was unlikely for Waynes to fall to 14, but Miami might have a chance at Parker. A new receiver would be nice.

Well, to be fair, besides the '79 season and that brief stretch from like '97-'03 the Bucs were pretty much always at the bottom.

I figured we'd take an offensive lineman, but I was hoping Scherff would still be there. We got Ereck Flowers...not sure if Humphries or Peat wouldn't have been better choices, but I don't mind admitting the Giants scouting squad is probably better at it than I am.

I'm pretty happy with Flowers in that position. They addressed a need and he should be able to be plugged right in.

I'm only familiar with some of the details. What was the purpose of being asked to be removed from the draft? And how could the NFL say no? How is he being screwed out of millions? I would like to know more.

A few days before the draft the Baton Rouge Police Department stated to the media that they would like to speak to Collins regarding the death of an ex girlfriend, although he is neither a suspect or even a person of interest. NFL teams are losing their shit over it, so Collins requested he be removed from the draft pool until he can speak with the police and then enter the supplemental draft thereby saving himself some of the money he'll be losing out on by going undrafted. The NFL denied his request, so he is now stating that if he goes undrafted in either the second or third round he will not sign his contract and re-enter the draft next year.

Ahh, okay. I wonder why the police felt the need to tell the media they wanted to question him if he isn't a suspect or anything.

This is just a guess, but I have a little bit of history in that sort of thing, so here goes: It's possible that they wanted to question him in order to help out the case, even if only for ancillary stuff, but he'd been ducking them our flat out refusing. They could subpoena him into court, but it's possible he's not tied to the case at all (and therefore wouldn't hold up to a charge of impeding an investigation for not talking to them). If he was being a jerk about it (or if they were being jerks about it) they could have called the media because they knew that he was in the public eye and it might get him to respond to them in some way.
