What's the best way to get details on a container besides analyzing/inspecting/weighing?

Does a bard need to sing to it in order to get the exact weight, or is weighing a few times good enough?

If I want to know exactly how much it holds, do I have to fill it up with small stuff and then weigh it?

Sounds tedious!

Bard song is the only way I know to get exact. Sing to it once empty, sing to it again full and subtract the difference. I think most people use light leathers first to stuff things with, as they are exactly 10 lbs. So you're usually not having to deal with all that much. Someone else can chime in to what to use after light leathers, but I just use light leathers at 10 and daggers at 1 lb each.

You could always advertise: "Selling backpack, weighs about 8, holds significant" - and let it go at that. If you're selling just some random type of container, it's probably easier to do that and you're not losing out on much silver anyway. Anything you think is special, particularly back/cloak worn containers that hold more than a significant amount, or belt worn that hold more than medium, or shoulder worn that holds more than fairly large, should be loresung to make sure you are charging the right price and buyers know what they're getting.

I'm maxed out on containers at this point. I need to stop buying damn containers and start saving for better armor.

Or just buy a 1k capacity container and keep the rest for show.
