I know some of you have been at it for a long while, I'm curious to hear about prized pieces.
What did you start with, and what did you make it into?
I've been working at creating a maul out of non-standard material for awhile, and finally lucked out on a perfect vaalorn. Now to get it enchanted!

Lucked into a perfect vaalorn handaxe on my first try with only a 10 lb bar once.

Still awesome. That vultite RT is a killer, I'm always impressed when I see a perfect
Wesley

The way I figure it, it still takes less time to work in vultite and just sell perfect 4x's than it does to work in mithril then have them enchanted to 4x. I don't have any data to back that up, but that was the thinking. They sold pretty darn well when I was pumping 'em out. I think I worked it out that probability-wise you can pump out one vultite perfect at riiight around every 8 and a half hours or somesuch. Not a bad time investment for somethin' that even now I'm told sells for about 3m a pop.

Wesley

I don't remember exactly. Tyrant might have an exact number. It was a lot of years ago that I was really pumping 'em out, but it was a long, long time. Edit: If I had to guess, I'd say it's probably the same, or very close to Golvern, since I see you work with that.

Wesley's correct. There is one veil iron slab in existence, it's in someone's shop for 50 million.
No kroderine or adamantine, golvern is probably second rarest. There's eonake, eahnor, and rolaren which are pretty rare as well.

Sucks for the owner of that slab now that veil iron spawns in the treasure system. Still bragging rights for having a superior or perfect I suppose.
Wesley
04-27-2015, 07:13 PM
That's a shame if that's the same slab that was raffled off in one what must have been 2008 or 2009 (the last time I was active to have remembered that raffle). Some stuff like that I think maybe should've been a raffle restricted to a master forger who might have actually used it, rather than someone who was just going to stick a price that nobody would ever in their right mind pay.
Androidpk
04-27-2015, 07:17 PM
He/she has had that slab in the shop for a long ass time. Used to be priced at 100m. I think there may have been 2 slabs released though because for awhile there was a player forged veil iron battleaxe in the shops as well for like 35m.
tyrant-201
04-27-2015, 07:17 PM
Yeah my guess is the owner doesn't forge. It's really of no use to anyone who doesn't forge, so it does suck that it may have been sold to someone who may never use it. Even just a superior would be tits.

You guys should ask for some rare slabs to be released at the next big festival (raffle/auction as opposed to the slab generator). That type of stuff takes permission, but no harm in asking.

I have asked on the officials numerous times about urglaes weapons and slabs and the lack thereof and I've yet to get a serious answer. Marstreforn was like, oh I saw you hunting earlier and you missed an urglaes claid that dropped. Wyrom trolled me in game once by showing me an urglaes battleaxe he had in his cloak. Hmmrph

I've made a few perfect mithrils...I've used, in total, 116 pounds of golvern trying for a perfect golvern lance...best I got was two superiors. That was with a dwarf warrior with max stats and enhancives.

Provided the character at the vise is a master of the weapon type, yes. It doesn't matter who forged the head (as long as they're mastered), or who crafted the shaft (mastered as well), if both = superior and the viser is a master of that weapon type you get the chance at the perfect.

an ornate archaic Ashrim warblade
Weathered and ancient, this weapon bears the scars of many battles, lost and won. The slightly-curved blade is etched with wave-like Ashrim runes and the metal gleams in hues of silver and celestial blue. A fine layer of gilded blued mithglin has been added to the razor sharp serrated edge of the blade to prevent any premature wear. The ornate silver eahnor hilt ends with a perfect spherical emerald pommel marked with the royal crest of House Ashrim. A faint aura of holy light radiates from the warblade. You notice your crafting mark.
There appears to be something written on it.
In the Elven language, it reads:
Tempest's Fury
7x perfect mithril falchion, blessable.

a dark runic matte kelyn stiletto
The superb craftsmanship used to create this weapon is evident in its clean deadly lines and smoky swirls of damascened metal that writhes through the matte black kelyn stiletto. Wave-like runes are etched along the slim blade's fuller, ending at the silver eahnor hilt which is wrapped in sea thrak hide. An emerald is set into the pommel, a carving of House Ashrim afloat upon its sea form-hued depths. You notice a small enchanter's glyph and Aetheri's crafting mark.
There appears to be something written on it.
In the Elven language, it reads:
Atria, Mistress of Vengeance
4x perfect kelyn dagger. I'll enchant it more when I finish my current enchanting quota.

a sharp runic Ardenai kaskara
Dual edges of perfectly honed mithril comprise this tool of war. The cold grey metal is hammered and blackened to a perfect luster, displaying the quality of craftsmanship. Elven runes trace the length of the blade's fuller, their gold inlaid forms flowing together in graceful, vine-like patterns. Scorched vruul-hide wraps the dark faenor hilt, into which is set a squat emerald blazestar cabochon marked with the crest of House Ardenai. A faint aura of holy light radiates from the kaskara. You notice Aetheri's crafting mark.
There appears to be something written on it.
In the Elven language, it reads:
Exile
7x perfect mithril longsword
and...
a sharp runic Ardenai waraxe
Masterfully crafted of sturdy rolaren, this formidable weapon is a perfect example of the rarely achieved balance between stout functionality and elegant design. Chatoyant rolaren in hues of forest green and gold forms the head, smoothly meeting edges of veil iron. Flowing Ardenai runes etched in the blade spiral down the sturdy veil iron haft which finishes in a polished sphere of emerald blazestar marked with the crest of House Ardenai. You notice a small enchanter's glyph and Aetheri's crafting mark.
There appears to be something written on it.
In the Elven language, it reads:
Serenity
6x perfect rolaren handaxe

a perfect vultite maul: Masterfully wrought from a vein of purest blue vultite the twin heads of this maul resemble snarling cats. The long haft, forged from a piece of golvern has been polished to a high shine. It has been inlaid with brilliant white eonake, twin columns of rampant tigers placed tail to nose stretch up from the bottom to touch noses where haft and head pieces join together. Closer inspection of the head pieces reveals one to be a leopard with ruby eyes, the other a tiger with emerald eyes. A faint aura of holy light radiates from the maul. A strange necrotic haze radiates from the maul. You notice your crafting mark.
10x, permablessed with extraplaner bane.
a perfect maoral-hafted vultite maul: no show on it, and only 4x but it has rotating flares; fire, ice, and steam, it looks like.
a perfect vultite fist-scythe: Just 7x
I forged a perfect spear a bit ago and it is currently being enchanted up to 7x.
Hoy's spear was also forged by an alt of mine.
Golvern is 600 seconds(10min) and vultite is 540(9min), so you know.

Yep. I don't even think it was an option last EG, the year before they only offered it as a choice of services via fishhook, and even then only a handful of times. I know a few people who had it as an option, but they either didn't have a usable piece with them, or they chose a different service...I know Ithzir flare upgrades and a couple other nice services were also options.
I'm hoping it is a limited raffle or spinner service at some point, all that damn golvern I spent making two superiors...

- I started with a superior rolaren axe (didn't quite get that perfect, oh well)
- Player enchanted it to 7x
- Used Premium Points to take it to 8x
- Won Heavy Crit Weighting at an event and threw it on there
- Snagged weighting at one of the Coraesine events, and took it to +20 CW
- Snagged more weighting at the final Coraesine Field, and took it to +30 CW
- Won the Zealot knowledge / Goryweapon Major service, and declined the free 10x weapon that came with the win so I could pay 7 mil to have the service applied to this axe instead
- Won Undeadbane at the final Coraesine Field, and threw it on (chose disruption flares)...
- Used an enchant at this Coraesine Field to take it to 9x
- At Ebon Gate of that year I believe, spent a few mil to win a perfectifying slot at auction, making the axe perfect.
Plus it has a cool alter.

A double-winged sanguine golvern battle-axe.
Raised scales create a textured grip along the lengthy handle of inky black steel. Crowning the handle is a totem of reddish-copper skulls where a stylized vathor, its form depicted in leathery muscle and framed in spikes, sits perched with a menacing jagged-filled maw. Fanning out from the demon are wings that fashion the dual blades of the axe, each ripples with heavy sanguine tones that look like steaming, blurred waves against the membranous backdrop.

Update on the white ora falchion.
Been enchanted to 4x, and added a T1 ensorc to it, altered into :a leaf-embossed white ora khopesh
Show: look khop
The white ora of the khopesh curves sinuously, expertly forged to give the blade several sharp and rounded edges. Etched exquisitely upon the stem of the blade, silver leaves sprout and rise upward - the fine toolwork beginning to recede as it curls with each curve of the weapon, fading completely as it nears the tip of the blade. Secured tightly to the base of the blade is a ribbed pale mossbark hilt, the dull finish of the wood giving it a bone-like appearance. A strange necrotic haze radiates from the khopesh. You notice Kaasori's crafting mark.

Been awhile. Back at it again.
You finish your work and step back, turning the drakar maul in your hands. You smile as you realize that this piece is probably the best that you can create.

Have a sylvan wizard that is a battlemage that ive done forging for RP reasons (i know, cray right?). About to waste a heavy rolaren slab from duskruin on him to try to make a lance. I'll post whatever garbage comes of it here!

Well-forged steel polished to a brilliant shine has been used to make this short, sharply pointed gladius. Etched down the center of the blade as if extending outward from within the weapon itself is a mass of flame, with the details of the inferno accented by bright and dark accents. Black-filled runes burn through the flames, ostensibly creating a ward around the piece. You notice a small enchanter's glyph and your crafting mark. A faint aura of holy light radiates from the gladius.

In the Common language, it reads:
Revenge of the Demon Hunter: Next Time, No Bucket!
Perfectly forged by Clunk.
Enchanted to 7x by Aurla.
Enchanted to 8x by Sarie.
And <sadface>, I forgot who did the etchings on it.

a perfect walnut-hafted vultite morning star
This was my first perfect forge, it is currently 7x T3 and I am hoping to make it my primary weapon within the week. Originally it was "a perfect walnut-hafted black vultite morningstar" but pre-vise dying covers the metal properties (fine for steel, cause it makes all metals the same as steel, crappy for anything enchanted) So did an assist to have "black" removed. Wyrom showed up and fixed it, also spacing out the "morningstar to morning star". I have not washed it since that day.

He/she has had that slab in the shop for a long ass time. Used to be priced at 100m. I think there may have been 2 slabs released though because for awhile there was a player forged veil iron battleaxe in the shops as well for like 35m.
There were two slabs released, one when forging was first released as part of a GM event, Lord Cemb received that one, he forged a couple of weapons with it and gave Frorin the remainder of the slab which was enough to make that greataxe that is out there. I saw the price dropped on the playershop slab so I bought it I think I paid 15 or 20 million. I made a morning star, a handaxe and a warsword out of it and I still have less than 2 lbs left over which I keep in my beard. Everything came out elegant quality I used enough enhansives to max my forging stats and gift of eonak but did not yield any superior pieces. I've asked several times for more slabs to be release but to no avail yet. I'm holding onto the morning star hoping to get the service to perfect forged weapons.

I get wanting to make the materials exclusive and hard to get, but there's got to be a better way of releasing these things than the slab generator. I asked to have them sell eahnor at the last duskruin for bloodscrip, to no avail.

Just finished my top project.
You glance down to see an ink-whorled mithglin moon axe in your right hand
A whorled pattern of veining throughout the burnished mithglin axe head bears a liquid resemblance, not unlike thready coils of spilled ink. The atramentous eddies fade to nothing near the crescent blade, and the sharpened edge gleams like the deep blue of encroaching night. Opposite the bit rears a round, white head of a heavy femur, while a graduated spray of dark talons form a staggered, serrated spine stretching halfway down the bone haft before giving way to a tight wrap of glossy black leather. You notice a small enchanter's glyph and Kaasori's crafting mark. A strange necrotic haze radiates from the axe.
There appears to be something written on it.

Since it's been awhile since I bumped this thread, I figured I'd show off my work on each of the 3 pieces I kept.
Perfect eonake maul:
8x, blink flares, T5 ensorcell, 10CER
a faintly glowing eonake sledgehammer
Brilliant white, the octagonal eonake head of the sledgehammer is possessed of a faint luminescence that casts soft shadows at odds with its harsh angles and imposing size. Each striking face has been deeply incised with a convoluted pattern of stylized knotwork, the recesses of which are rough silver in contrast with the brilliantly polished exterior. The weapon's long ironwood haft, gently flared near the head, bears interlaced white and grey suede bindings at optimal points for surety of grip. A faint aura of holy light radiates from the sledgehammer. You notice a small enchanter's glyph and Kaasori's crafting mark. A strange necrotic haze radiates from the sledgehammer.

Perfect rolaren spikestar
8x, T5 ensorc, knockout flares, 11CER
a smoky rolaren thorn-encircled spikestar
Mounted upon a haft of lacquered ebonwood is a smoke-toned rolaren sphere, a pattern of overlapping and tightly wound rose petals spiraling in sharp relief across its surface. Rooted deep between the furled petals, sharp green-black kelyn thorns splay outward from the bloom in a vicious array, some tapered and straight while others bear a slight curvature and hooked barbs. Thin kelyn tendrils wind a third of the way down the ebon haft and hold fast an etched plate of rolaren within their tangled grasp. You notice a small enchanter's glyph and Kaasori's crafting mark. A faint aura of holy light radiates from the spikestar. A strange necrotic haze radiates from the spikestar.
