View Full Version : Klaive's Wedding Items.
My submitted wedding items:
Item 1 (Goes to Klaive)
Desc: a silver-spiked black vultite collar (Neck Worn)
Show: Forged from hard black vultite, the collar is latched tightly in the back and locked. Long, sharp, silver spikes are spaced evenly all around the collar while a small plaque has been welded to the front and reads, "Klaive - Beloved property of Vashtee and eternal slave to her love."
Item 3 (Goes to Klaive)
Desc: a pair of shadowy black vruul skin boots adorned with small ruby-eyed skulls along the outer ankles (Boot Worn)
Item 5 (Goes to Klaive)
Desc: a shadowy black leather kilt clasped at the front with a blackened steel ruby-eyed demon's skull (Pants Worn) (Pocketed)
Item 6 (Goes to Klaive)
Desc: a shadowy black spidersilk vest (Pin Worn)
Show: Woven from fine spidersilk the color of a moonless night, this vest is a prime example of expert tailoring. Along the edges, the vest has been trimmed in blood red spidersilk. On the right side, small platinum runes descend the trimming, precisely distanced from one to the next. While on the left, chaotic silver letters descend vertically down the trimming, spelling out the words, "Worship Me."
(Pin Worn)
Item 7 (Goes to Klaive)
Desc: some shadowy black vruul skin gloves edged with small ruby-eyed skulls along the outer cuffs (Glove Worn)
Item 12 (Goes to Klaive)
some enruned gleaming black vultite finger armor tipped with a razor-sharp diamond talon (Pin Worn)
Item 20 (Goes to Klaive)
a crystal-encased ruby heart armband (Arm Worn)
SHOW: Crafted of pure icy crystal, the armband wraps around to completely encompass the wearer's upper arm. A beautiful ruby heart has been inlaid into the crystal on the face of the armband, and the crystal that would be covering the heart has been sculpted to appear broken and shattered. An inscription upon the heart reads, "My Vashtee has freed my heart from its icy prison."

It all has the I'm a sorcerer so I'm evil stereo-type.
You don't rate a kilt
The shows are pretty good though and I like the collar it fits you.

Well, technically, the gloves were extra. I had a spot I didn't know what to do with. Maybe I shoulda made a tongue ring. LoL. (I wish).

LOL! Vashtee eats pickles like crazy. They're her "pregnancy food". Pickles and tea. I just thought it was funny and ironic that you chose to say "tickles your pickle". LoL.

You're pushing your luck. These are wedding items, not "You paid us $180 so now we're going to let you design 20 alters however you want." That screams ugly.

I've had a wedding before. The items don't hafta be wedding only. In fact, people are encouraged to make an ensemble that they can wear after the wedding too. It'd be a shame to waste 18 items on stuff you can only wear one day. Klaive's getting married on the beach in that outfit, his girl's gonna be in leather pants and a bodice. They'll be worn during the ceremony, and afterward as well.
It may be gawdy, it may be tasteless, but it is most certainly not pushing my luck.

Good luck. The wedding staff can be hardasses about items, and I can only imagine what the comments are going to be about the demon skull fastening that kilt of yours.
I'd be interested to see what adjustments you're asked to make.

Im not sure I would put someone's name on -any- item I had altered, if only for the fact that people leave the game, people quit playing, relationships end... An item with a name on it has little or no resale value.

Some of my favorite things are Naessi's container with her name in the SHOW, and things I have gifted to people that are signed with her name. These are the sorts of things that can be passed on and kept in remembrance if/when she ever leaves.

The skull shouldn't be a problem, cause it's fake and crafted from steel. But there may be some changes needed.

Klaive, my educated guess is that the issue with the skull will be that it's a demon skull. There are plenty of skulls floating around out there, and that's one thing, but a specific type of skull (especially that of a demon, what do they look like?) might be reaching a little.

I don't think they'll do a "demon skull" since they won't make items with parts of creatures that you can't really kill in the lands, ergo why you can't have anything with dragon and unicorn parts in your item description or show.

Ahh, but that's just it. You can have a unicorn clasp, yes? So why not a steel demon's skull? It's not a real skull, it's metal work shaped like a skull.

Ah, okay, as long as it's metal shaped into a skull, then that's different and very acceptable. My apologies, I misunderstood.

It's okay. I would've tried to get a real demon skull back in the day, but after going through one wedding already, I've come to understand that some things are quite simply "You're dreaming, pal."
I'll never forget my first request for an alteration...

On words: I found out really late that people move on from GS, but luckily, the alterations that I *DID* make with my PC had a coined phrase on them that went with all my characters. Yea, so I stole it from myself OOC, oh well :)
GMs in general I think are unwilling to put words on things because they run the risk of you coming back a month later with, "Fluffybutt left me, could you pleeeease pleeeeease pleeeeease make this say "'My heart, Forever --Stinkycheese' instead?!"
Generally, I've found if it's something that applies to your character, most will go with it.

Item 2 (Goes to Vashtee)
Desc: an elegant platinum collar (Neck Worn)
Show: Adorned with small dangling ruby hearts, this platinum collar is quite feminine, but still appears to be strong and functional as indicated by the lock on the back. A small plaque has been affixed to the collar and reads, "Vashtee - Beloved Property of Klaive and eternal slave to his love."

Desc: a dainty platinum chain anklet adorned with several dangling miniature ruby hearts (Ankle Worn)
Item 10 (Goes to Vashtee)
a delicate platinum toe ring (Pin Worn)
SHOW: Expertly crafted from the finest platinum, the delicate toe ring has been painstakingly inlaid with several flawless ruby hearts which surround the outside of the band, glittering beautifully. Engraved in tiny script along the edge of the toe ring are the words, "These toes belong to Klaive."
Item 13 (Goes to Vashtee)
a strapless ruby-dusted black leather bodice tightly side-laced with shimmering spidersilk cords (Pin Worn)

It's possible that you're right there, but we're hopeful because it's only a symbolic slavery and it's mutual. It is not a master/slave relationship. It's a marriage and no one is being forced or coerced. We are equals and both happy with the situation... mainly, if you were dating Mandy, it's like wearing a T-Shirt IRL that said, "Property of Mandy".
You aren't actually owned by Mandy, you're just being affectionate and cute. That's what the collars are supposed to be.

Also keep in mind that each wedding experience is unique. Some negotiators are more strict than others. Pretty much whatever they decide gets made, QC just spell checks and watches for Major Glaring Affronts to alternation policy.
This is why they're called guidelines. It's up to the negotiator to interperate them and decide on an individual basis what is acceptible and what is not.
In my last wedding, I had several questionable things made... an entire outfit with pentagrams, Sheru alters... we even designed items that contained our souls.
It was all allowed. I am hoping that the negotiator I get will be half as reasonable. I love Andraste to pieces, but she's among the strictest wedding negotiators. She's fair, but if you hafta ask or ponder, forget it. It's not getting made.
I love working with her on stuff, but I'd much rather have Kaylia as a negotiator, cause I'd get more items made.

Well, collar's and slavery are often brought up on the official RP boards. The SIMU answer is that it doesn't support slavery or ownership, though some collars and items to that effect (like pretty much anything around here) have slipped through the net. However, like the Premium Alters, Wedding Alters are done under the strictest scrutiny to the Alteration rules. I'd get a back-up sorted.

If nothing else, we'd just change the inscription to something not indicative of slavery. ;)
You can only have two jewelry items, and they won't make anything strapless.
As far as having Kaylia (sp?) as your wedding negotiator... it doesn't matter, all items go through Andraste.

Yes, they all go through her. But like I said, she's fair. If the negotiator has approved them, Andraste probably won't have a fit because she wasn't the negotiator.
She does her job as best she can, and generally speaking, she's more strict when she's actually the negotiator because she's working one on one with the bride and groom.
My other items went through her too... but she wasn't my negotiator that time and I had been told by her, "If I was your negotiator, I wouldn't have approved these." But she wasn't, so they got made.
It's luck! Hehe. And you can always attempt to defend your item too.

GsGurl is right, you can only have two jewelry/ceremonial items in addition to the rings. The rest is supposed to be clothing. Vashtee has way too much jewelry.

P.S. That came off a little overly critical, I didn't mean it that way. I actually find her items appealing (except for the toe inscription, haha). Just don't want to see you get dissapointed over the jewelry limit.
All this is making me so jealous! I wish I could have a cathedral wedding for one of my girls! But alas, whenever a relationship looks really good for one of them, the guy goes off and disappears never to be even heard of again. Well... some just go off for two year military tours of strange countries with limited internet access.
And good male role-players who can type in a manner that doesn't irritate me are so few and far between! Well, the ones that aren't taken are scarce, anyway. And none of my girls are of the type to steal another's guy.
Good luck and congratulations on the wedding, Klaive. I like most of the items, although I gotta agree that the black leather on a beach thing would get uncomfortable... but hey, it's fantasy, and we can just pretend that she doesn't sweat.

Silk isn't bad, Michi, the most overused fabric in GS is SPIDERSILK. Gag me. I don't own a single spidersilk item.
Naessi got married, or tried to, in imperial satin (I wanted duchesse satin, which is a real fabric, but they used imperial because of duchesses or something).

I totally agree! My girl is always asking people who wear those why they want to have spiders in their clothing.
Now, I think you could feasibly RP someone who really DOES enjoy that sort of thing, but they'd be few and far between, and not the prim fashion plates you see wearing those clothes just because they're a trendy item!
