I am unable to get the link to SGE work. Some UAC problem keeps me from using Lich, does it also keep the Lich link to SGE from working?

Disable UAC. It's annoying and causes problems with far more stuff than Lich/SGE.

I removed all Ruby, Lich, Simu files and programs, then reloaded them fresh after turning off UAC.
I hoped this would allow me to use Lich through the link to SGE since it would not work directly.
It still didn't work and I got this message in my Temp file.

This is the same issue you had when trying to log in directly through Lich. Focusing on the link to SGE is misleading, as that part is working fine. The part that fails in both cases is starting the Simutronics Launcher.

Try any or all of these:

Set the Simutronics Launcher to always run as admin (find Launcher.exe in Wndows Explorer, right-click on it, click Properties, click on the Compatibility tab, check Run this program as an administrator)

Set Ruby to always run as admin (same way as Launcher.exe, but do it to c:\ruby200\bin\rubyw.exe). This isn't a good idea, because all the Lich scripts you download from unknown authors and run without reading will also be running as admin.

Change your UAC settings. There are more options than just on/off. Try them all.

Or try this:

Use a custom launch command (In the Lich game entry, click the checkbox next to Custom launch command, two textboxes appear, select the Stormfront option from the dropdown list on the first text box, put C:\PROGRA~2\Simu\STORM (probably) in the second textbox, finish logging in with that window.) This bypasses the Simu Launcher, and should make all the UAC and run as admin settings irrelevant.

Thank you Tillmen. I think the issue is resolved, I have my account up and running with lich. Had to use the the ruby option. Thank you for your help.
