View Full Version : FWI Player Shops Not Indexed

I finally figured out why my shop on FWI hasn't sold anything this month: it's not indexed on either www.shops.lichproject.org or on http://virilneus.com/shops. Neither are the shops of Exttior and Daelyne, both of which are in the same room.

If I understand correctly, indexing shops is done by players using the Lich program, instead of by Simu. If I had Lich installed on my computer, I would try to fix it myself, but I don't. I think the problem is Arroke's shop. Arroke's shop has two index listings on shops.lichproject.org, and the exit from Arroke's shop leads to the wrong room.

I have tried to update the shops on FWI several times in the past couple weeks, but for some reason the script hangs up before sending the information off to the lich server.

I don't have a shop, so I wasn't too concerned with it. I figured the problem might have been on my end.

I just updated the script, which might fix this, but they don't let me on FWI so I don't know. It might also be nice if the shop wasn't broken.

Thank you.

My shop showed up in the index again yesterday, and I made my first sale in a month. I am convinced that player shops would be mostly used as lockers without a searchable index.

These shops have stopped being indexed again: Daelyne, Exttior and Nindon. The problem seems to be a broken exit in Arroke's shop.

Daelyne's, Exttior's and my shops started being indexed again shortly after my post on March 9, but they are now not being indexed again.

I'd wager a guess that more than one person is updating the FWI shops, but only one of them has the updated version of the script.

You could install Lich and index the shops too!

Don't be silly - it's much easier to complain.

If I had the ability to update the listings, then I would happily and frequently run a script to do that. But if you are correct that someone else is running a script that deletes these three shops (Daelyne, Exttior and Nindon) from the index, then it seems like a lost cause. Is there a way to find out who is deleting my shop from the indexes? If so, would banning that person from my shop allow my shop to remain in the index with its old inventory listings?

I attemped to make a work around for the broken shop some time ago, but someone using the updated script confirmed that it still didn't work, so my guess is that the other shops in the room get scanned or not depending on the order they appear in the room, which changes. Realizing that now, I'm just going to make it scan the broken shop last when I get home.

The following three shops on FWI have stopped being indexed again: Valyss (formerly Daelyne), Exttior and Nindon. Possibly, the transfer from Daelyne to Valyss had something to do with it.

Ask Wyrom to please fix the shop exit.

The problem is the script is probably wandering into that shop first, then when it leaves it never gets to the others in that room.

Fixing the exit of a single room should not be a lot of GM time, it should be doable. I suppose someone has BUG'd it in game?

They are apparently working on shops. <shrug>

In the mean time, is it possible to skip the broken shop maybe?

It's been bugged multiple times.

I think that would be the best solution. Right now, only the broken shop gets indexed. The rest of shops in the room get skipped.

It's broken again. Three of the five shops in the problem room are not being indexed. The three not being indexed are Exttior, Valyss and Nindon. The two being indexed are Maeby and Praeli.

It started working for a few days after I posted on Dec. 30, but now it's broken again. The shops of Exttior, Valyss and Nindon are not being indexed.

Good news. The GMs are aware of the broken shop and are working to fix it. It's not fixed yet, but I hope it will be soon.

Apparently, there is a shop on FWI with entrances from two different rooms. There is another shop with no entrance at all. The shop with two entrances is somehow on top of the shop with no entrances. The shop with no entrances should have an entrance in the room that contains my shop, and the shop with two entrances should have only one entrance, which should be in another room. At least that's how I understood it.

Shop with no entrances must have an owner who doesn't play anymore, otherwise this would've been fixed a long time ago.
