A few months ago I decided to take a break from playing GS and with that decision I uninstalled everything Simu, Lich and Ruby related. Fast forward to now, my husband has started playing, and my interest is piqued again. I start off with downloading the launcher, but when I go to install I have this error message pop up: The file"'C:\Program Files (x86)\Ruby-1.8.7-p352\bin\rubyw.exe""C:\Users\Xxxxx\Desktop\lich-4.4.19\lich.rbw"\help32.txt' could not be opening. Please check that your disk is not full and that you have access to the destination directory. The filena

That's it. I've searched my computer for anything and everything Lich/Ruby related and there's nothing. I'm probably missing some easy, obvious fix but please take pity on me and point it out. Thanks in advance for any help.

Wish I could help. Hopefully Tillmen will pop in and be familiar with the error.

Thanks, I hope so too :) I've logged in using the web based front end, and it's alright. I would just prefer to get SF back up and running.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. What I struggled with trying to figure out for hours, my husband had fixed in 5 minutes lol! One last question though, when I click the Link button to connect SGE with Lich, nothing happens. Is there something else I should be doing?

Are you F2P?

There was a connection issue for me too, with being F2P accounts. I think Tillmen fixed it tho... can't remember...

The "Link to SGE" button just changes a registry setting so that when the SGE looks for the Simu Launcher, it finds Lich instead. That way, you can use the SGE to log in and still use Lich. If you're going to use the game entry tab or quick game entry tab on the Lich window to log in, then you don't need to link to anything.

This same registry setting causes the help32.txt error that you had before, which can be fixed by using the unlink button

I'd like to link if at all possible, I switch between different characters & accounts sometimes and I just find the SGE easier. Thanks Tillmen :)
