6x 3-slot fusion katar, T1, grapple flares, max-lightened

Not sure if I would be willing to sell this, but just trying to put feelers out and figure out its current worth.

Still looking for some input on the value of this.

A few years ago I paid around 21m for this, before it had grapple flares and before the T1 ensorcell.

I want to say the grapple flares cost me around 10-15m at EG several years ago and the ensorcell was 2m.

I just don't have any idea on the value of it any longer. Have grapple flares become more common? 3-slot fusion common as well?

grapple flares aren't exactly super uncommon. There's 5x grapple flaring UAC gear for sale off the shelf at the new "freemium" duskruin event, for instance. Adding the flares is kind of a double edged sword though, some people will love them others would rather have (potentially) enchanted the item to 7x, or at the very least left it blessable. You definitely wouldn't get the 10-15m investment back from it. The T1 is ~2m (with prices trending down) and again, you usually don't get the money back. Katars are also a bit of a niche weapon base, especially since it seems more and more people are maxing enhancives now. The hybrid weapons suffer due to that.

I think you could maybe get ~25m with the right buyer, but it is a comparatively limited market. Really nice item though, I would have loved to have dual wielded this with my 7x perfect :D

just like the skill training, since it's a hybrid weapon you need double the enhancives for the same benefit. If you wanted to max your AS with a katar you need +50 edged and +50 brawl.

Even worse if you were going to use it for twc. Certainly possible though, particularly post-cap where extra TPs allow for robust pursuit of that sort of thing, especially for warriors who can train in weapon skills cheaply. You'd still need the enhancives though if you really wanted to try to max them, but I think most people are happy with just getting about half way there.

Yeah, I was running the numbers and found that for every +10 OHE bonus, I'd only get +5 main hand AS and +3 off hand. Pretty brutal.

Just as an example, I'm fully 2x trained in brawling, ohe, twc and hurling. This kind of training luxury makes it so that guys like me, Vindicate, Jeril or Roblar can easily pick up a weapon like this and just use it without even changing our training. Other classes not so much. It can be done though, and I think it would be a ton of fun and very effective, even though challenging.

My problem is that the first thing I'd do is accidentally hurl it, so I'll have to pass!

I play a TWC katar wielding warrior, only currently lvl 39, so my main thought in considering to sell it was I could probably sell it, and replace it with something of a similar enchant and not really notice much difference during combat right now.

I don't really have the best orbs to go with it currently and I am low on silver.

I think I am likely going to go ahead and hang onto it for now, as I do really enjoy using it.

is it common to be able to add flares to fusion weapons? I wasn't sure, I thought at EG when they were giving out unbalance flares they said NO on adding it to fusion. But I didn't know if that was the default or the exception.
