Now that F2P is out, how are town populations?

Got a level 45 cleric wanting to come back, was there any significant bump in population such that I could sit somewhere and raise effectively?

Probably not consistently. Some days are better than others, and a lot of people have pocket clerics now for raising when clerics are unavailable.

But clerics are also powerhouse hunters now.

Logged in population hasn't really changed all that much. Some nights around midnight to 2AM there can be upwards of 300 people on, which is pretty impressive considering the time of day. But for the most part it's the same, maybe an extra 20-40 people on at any given time.

I've been out in Illy for a bit and have noticed quite a few people in the morning looking for Clerics around the Landing. Usually, I'd be there to help when Kaedra's not on duty (she usually gets the majority if not all cause she's GOOD!) but there are usually a few calls. The only problem I'm seeing is that they are pretty young with the slow F2P exp absorption rate so I don't see a lot of exp from it. But some is always better than none.

1,312 Metal Babbles later. I had four pairs of luck shoes for XP walking in Dragon Warrior 3.

Worst. Grind. EVER.

For your level range the only option is Landing, maybe Icemule. The influx of F2P players has revitalized a strong portion of the community, both new and returning, both free and sub. There are enough new people to get their asses kicked and give you purpose in either of those towns. I'd say Landing because I dislike Mule. Personal preference.
