Why the hell am I 1x'd in perception?

Well pretty much...I'm curious, why I have 1x in perception, Started so long ago now (not really that long but ya know) that i can't remember why i put 1x in perception. Is it something for aimed attacks (which currently i'm not using cause even though i'm maxed in cman i have no ambush ranks) or is it just for catching thieves and all, cause if so i'd like to drop it all for some MOC seeing as I onlly have one rank right now. Anywho i was just curious any info on why I may need it would be much appreciatted.

You should always have a bit of perception, for finding hidden areas and stuff, finding hidden people, etc. You can't get into some of places without perception.

They all say that, but by 1Xing, you are only able to see botched attemps of hiding or poor hiders (1xing that are bellow your level)

And the place that you need to have perception are usualy place you wouldn't go anyway.

PErception is good ONLY if you pick AND are worried about your pocket.

Not so fast. Perception is vital to ambushing from hiding.

Other than that, if I were a warrior I'd probably .25x in perception maybe, just enough to get into places with perception checks and also guard your pockets from lesser thieves when you are older.

So long as you don't disarm boxes, ambush from hiding, or use ranged weapons, sure!

I have a 47 rogue archer that has 141 ranks in perception and only 18 ranks in pickpocketing. (she's too goody goody to steal) I have to admit I have trouble seeing lots of thiefs. I always thought your pickpocketing ranks counted more towards catching thiefs than your perception. I'm thinking about dropping those 18 ranks because she won't steal and it really doesn't seem to help much in catching others. (not that she has anything on her to be stolen... she's pretty good about closed containers and visiting the bank)

I think I have all my characters 1x at the very least in perception. There are places you do need to search for to get to. (from krag dwellers to yetis springs to mind) I guess it's just one of those skills that I felt was a good investment.

My warrior is 1x'd in perception and 1x'd in disarm. It makes bashing boxes much less painful when the traps are disarmed.

My warrior got a -95 trap (personal best) yesterday. Previous best was -74
