I got one. It used to work great. Now, not so much. It goes into like fits where it misunderstands the clicks and won't move right. I already changed the batteries and blew on it. HPEL?

We had those at my job for a brief bit and I really liked it.

Unfortunately I was toying around with it and I guess the ray of red light caught him directly in the eye and messed him up a bit. Management quickly removed them and I got accused of trying to knock off people on the roster above me :saint:

I only have experience with the cordless optical Logitechs (and very limited experience, at that,) so I don't know if this applies to your mouse. In any case, check to see if there's a secure mode you can put the mouse in. I'm not sure if secure mode only applies to wireless keyboards, and not mice, so I'm not even sure if it's possible. It may be that something's interfering with the frequency of the mouse.

Also, if you have the receiver near your monitor or the power supply of your computer, that could also interfere with the signal.

You could also try reinstalling the drivers, or trying to use different drivers.

I ended up switching back to a wired optical pretty much for similar reasons you described. Also, it would go into modes where it would become unresponsive, which became extremely annoying while playing games.

I had one that had the same problem.

Get one with a wire, and you'll be fine.

It's a laptop, so it's kinda all in the way, and there isn't a ton of room for wires. And it is a Logitech. I don't remember installing drivers, or how I did it. I basically recall plugging it in and it worked.

As for secure mode, I can't find anything in Control Panel (Mouse, System) and can't find any mention of the software. Do you recall where I could find it, 3704558?

And I guess I'll be wearing shades if I ever go to MA. :squint:

The option for secure mode would be found in the software of the drivers you installed.

Your mouse is Logitech, so if you can't find the disc, you can definitely find the drivers on their website. I've always had an absurdly terrible time with Logitech drivers, though, and try to avoid using them if I can; but, Microsoft drivers aren't any better, really.

And again, I should remind you, that I'm not even sure if the mouse CAN be secured. The only reason secure mode exists for wireless keyboards is so that somebody can't intercept the keyboard signal (even though it only extends, like, 10 feet) and sniff out passwords. There'd be no real need to secure a mouse. If you're using this wireless mouse with a laptop, it could be that the laptop itself is interfering with the signal. Basically, with a wireless anything, you want to put the receiver as far away as possible from any type of power source or magnetic area. A laptop is both.

Personally, I'd suggest switching over to a wired mouse. Wireless mice are notorious for breaking down over time, and they suck up batteries like a Hong Kong hooker. For my laptop, I use an optical mini-mouse, which is about the length and width of two of my fingers, and it has a retractable cord. Very easy to to carry around.
