I never liked the 'invade other player's worlds' thing that's become prevelant after DS. 99% of the time I disable it or cheese my connection if it can't be disabled.

Same. I play offline until I get stuck on a boss I can't solo. I'll then summon and deal with invaders. Playing on PC, there is a very real likelihood you'll run into cheaters with infinite hit points, or worse, the ability to corrupt your save game file. On consoles, i'll just suicide while wearing a soul protection ring. On PC I turn off the connection. Not worth the risk/bother.

Dark Souls 1 had it right where if you were hollow, you weren't invaded.

Certain areas were aggravating with the way covenant mechanics worked. Every time I walked into Belfry Luna I'd get dogpiled by 3 tower guardians, so I'd have to deal with them AND the regular mobs. It really shouldn't work that way?
